What Transformers toys (or characters) do you really like that rarely get mentioned or appreciated?
This popped into my head earlier as I was fiddling about with the double targetmasters from G1 - a really good set of figures IMO, with distinct designs and clever transformations.
I'd also throw Energon Strongarm in there, one of the best Basics they've ever made.
Cheers,
Jonathan

The original 80's Ratchet and Ironhide. Sure, they don't look like the cartoon/comics models (that were created later) but they are good weird alien toys. They even have a little base!

CR Wildride/RiD X-Brawn was a great deluxe, and I really miss the Beast Era asymmetry.
Beast Machines Thrust Motorcycle Drone was a great little toy that was neater than it should be, and will always be in my top ten.
BWN Archadis is a fun design and a fun toy.

Deluxe Squweeks from The Last Knight. Unique robot mode, clever transformation and (like Ratchet and Ironhide, mentioned above) comes with a little base.

The little Beast Wars flippy-formers. Drillbit, Razorbeast, Igunanus, Bat-Prime, Froggy. Really neat toys. Youngest loves 'em. Although they're probably not that underrated.

Beast Machines Thrust Motorcycle Drone was a great little toy that was neater than it should be, and will always be in my top ten. There are loads of good BM figures that are forgotten about. Things like Night Viper manages a servicable cobra and robot for example which is no mean feat. It's a shame that because of some not so impressive toys representing characters from the cartoon that the line is dismissed so readily.

I'm always going to go to bat for the Triggerbots. Super fun little toys.

It's a shame that because of some not so impressive toys representing characters from the cartoon that the line is dismissed so readily. Even some of those are pretty good in their own right. Both Jetstorms looked nothing like the show, but both where still fantastic toys. Tankor was great. Rattrap was good. Even deluxe Primal is really underrated (though I'd rate it higher with a brighter colorscheme and if so many critical and delicate parts weren't clear plastic). BM as a whole had very few actual duds.

BM Primal doesn't deserve his reputation as a total stinker but needed a better colour scheme and a bit of a redesign so the robot mode actually pegs together solidly

BM Buzzsaw. One of my all time favourite Transformers. Wish it had had a collection of crazy repaints.

You know what? I'm gonna say something crazy here.
Underrated Transformers?
COMBINER WARS DEVASTATOR.
Yes, he's a wobbly mess. Yes, the individual Constructicons are very basic. Yes, he doesn't stay together well. Yes, he feels cheap, he's under-accessorised...
BUTT
If you're like me -and I know I'm not alone- and you need THE DEVASTATOR to be huge, and stand-out, and dwarf everybot else (except Omega Supreme), then here, AT LAST, is a really big and beautiful Devastator.
Remember Heavy Metal Wars? Wait, they... they can COMBINE?!?!!! COMBINE TOGETHER?!?!?! What the heck is this?!?! "Transform: phase two!" !!!!!!!
The first, best, the only, COMBINER. Ridiculously huge, as he should be. I love him. Dream come true (gosh, remember all those early huge 3P Devastators? Totally out of reach!).
HE'S AMAZING.
(If you can get him to stand up that is.)

COMBINER WARS DEVASTATOR. You know what? This is a fair description of CW Devastator.

Sure, he's not accurate to... anything... but he's different, and that makes him interesting. And the use of all that clear blue plastic gives him an other-worldly look, which is really nice. Like him a lot.

I'd echo the love for the Beast Machines deluxe Primal. Slap the Blast Punch Optimus Primal colour scheme on him and he'd be an absolute banger.
I'd like to continue the BM love with Beast Machines Tank Drone, an absolute classic, show accurate, nice chrome and a fun sized bit of evil. I would love to get a dozen or so of him to properly troop build.
