Phil's Threadacectomony is biasing the discussion by dropping this into a Beast sub-forum. It won't help his case.

Conveniently ignoring the rest of my post I see. Nope. RID had beasts in it so your argument is moot. -Ralph Loved G1 being a Beast era show then. It had Dinobots and Predacons in it *and* was followed by Beast shows.

Yes, 100% yes.
What defines an era, is not the setting, or the universe/continuity, or even the characters.
It's about the toys/engineering, and the production.
Example: Kingdom Blackarachnia is absolutely a BW character, a BW design/style, and even part of a BW story in a BW setting. It, however, is not a Beast era toy.
Car Robots/Robots in Disguise uses the same engineering designs and concepts that were the standard for the entire run of Beast War. More so for BWN. The anime is the exact same style of story telling, and the exact same production values as BWII and BWN, even though the story does not continue the same path. It used Beast Era toys/designs as it's backbone, as well. The characters themselves were written the same way as japanese beast wars characters were.
And after that? We had Armada, kickstarting an entirely new style of engineering, a wholly new continuity (the very first true reboot), and a different kind of story to any we've seen before.
CR/RiD is not part of Beast Wars Continuity, but it is part of the Beast Era. Just like IDW 2005 is a G1 Continuity, but is not part of the G1 Era.

Beast Wars through Car Robots used toy engineering AND Toys from G1 and G2 then by your logic is part of the G1 era.

My logic is sound, and that is as false as saying movie is part of UT era because a couple UT toys were repainted.

Toph has correctly summed up the argument far better than I could.

My logic is sound, and that is as false as saying movie is part of UT era because a couple UT toys were repainted. Beast Wars basics are all flipchangers, the flip changers were G2 designed and engineered...

And err, Baldigus is G1 toy tech.

And the ball/socket joints etc of BW onwards first appeared in G2.

False equivalence. G2 started as nothing but G1 repaints until Megatron, yet you are not making the same false argument that it's G1 era. The existence of a repaint does not invalidate my logic.
Is Blurr any less a Targetmaster because he was originally released in 1986? Is Starscream any less a Decepticon Plane because he was released in the same assortment as Scourge and Cyclonus? Is Swoop any less a Dinobot because he's a pteranodon?

There was slight hints that Megatron was BW Megs. But depends if you add extra story at the end so gets back for Beastmachines.

Before it's English dub, I definitely lumped in with Beast Wars 2 and Neo.
It just sort of sits there alone otherwise.

I also see Car Robots as being part of the same era as Beast Wars 2 and Neo which also had various toys from previous eras in. I don't group the Japanese Beast Wars shows with the Western ones either as the links are so convoluted that they stand better as their own thing.
