<gets the fag packet out> Once you realise that Rampaging Hulk exists the numbers become simple: V23: 449-464 (450 is a double), Annual 97 (same month as 453), -1 issue (released between 454 & 455) v24: 465-474 (474 is a double), Annual 98 (same month as 467) Rampaging Hulk 1-6 (1 is out same month as 467)

True, but given that there is a film coming up I was kind of expecting them to do something of the sort - and most of her good solo stuff is iirc the fairly recent stuff so... Karl

Original Ms. Marvel is seriously underrated! I have both Masterworks, but I understand the first one is quite rare now, might be tempting to sell those on and get this instead.

What falling down the Epic Collection rabbit hole currently looks like: (excuse the things in the way) flic.kr/p/FN8yLM(5 SW volumes on another shelf, new New Mutants volume sitting upstairs, new Avengers and Masters of Kung-Fu volumes paid for) And without the obstructions (and with 2 more books)

Done. It's a odd beast the Byrne FF. It's the best the title has been for a while but it does feel like it's treading water a bit early on. It picks up for me at Secret Wars when She-Hulk joins the team.... which is odd, because if pushed I'd say the Thing was my favourite FF member! Those are the stories I remember from my youth though: Terminus, Nathanial Richards, Ben returning from the Secret Wars world, Doom stealing and destroying the Baxter Building, Hate Monger, Psycho Man and the Microverse, the last few of which were printed in UK Secret Wars II. But it's evident how well Byrne was doing if you read the stuff which comes after, which I did continuing into the Epic Collection 17 All in the Family. The title goes off the rails when Byrne leaves and it doesn't really feel like it knows what it's doing till Englehart's Ben Grimm's FF storyline starts. I could do with Epics 18 & 19 being released to bridge the gap which consists of 308-333. I've got 322-324 in Inferno Crossovers but that's about it! Since I'm going to read Epic Collection 21 The New Fantastic Four (347-361, annual 24) when I can get a cheap copy, it's time for a reread of Epic Collection 20 Into the Time Stream (334-346, annual 23), which starts the Simonson run first. Simonson re-read proves interesting, and a contrast so soon after Byrne. His art, and his ideas, both gave a bigness that Byrne seemed to lack even when Byrne was doing big cosmic stuff. I keep being reminded of a SW comic that Simonson drew and I read when I was young showing this huge super weapon dwarfing the Executor and other smaller Star Destroyers. In many ways, like on Thor, Simonson is a worthy successor to Kirby in that respect.

That's also a VERY thin volume, 312 pages. Masterworks v1 wasSo this Epic Collection, without the MTU and Defenders. www.comixology.co.uk/Ms-Marvel-Masterworks-Vol-1/digital-comic/387824Masterworks v2 is www.comixology.co.uk/Ms-Marvel-Masterworks-Vol-2/digital-comic/397185322 pages. Possible the Epic is going to be a direct port of that. I can't think of anything else to add without going into more of her Avengers appearances and then you're probably looking at pushing into whole third volume. Memory says there's 3 or 4 in the 150s, 160s then she's a member in the 180s..... <checks Marvel Wiki> 171-172, 175-177, 181, 183-188, 190-200. 23 issues, 4 of which are in, or in part, MMW Ms Marvel v2 already. The last issue of Ms Marvel goes on sale same month as Avengers 182 www.mikesamazingworld.com/mikes/features/newsstand.php?publisher=marvel&type=cover&month=4&year=1979&sort=alpha

Two more new Epics, the first is a surprise:
Punisher Epic Collection: Sacrifice Play Feb 19, 2019Only a few months after the previous Punisher, v2 Circle Of Blood Dec 24, 2018.
Something big Punisher happening early 2019?
This however..... isn't a surprise at all :-)
Excalibur Epic Collection: Girl's School from Heck Feb 26, 2019That's everything up to the return of Alan Davis in 42.

Digital trades confuse me. I just don't get it. -Ralph It's a bundle of the issues, usually cheaper than the issues. At full price most Epics are £13.99, which at 20 issues per epic, means you're effectively getting the issues at Comixology's sale price of 69p an issue. I know but it feels wrong. If it is a collected edition I want a spine! -Ralph Pinwig also requires spines. He is very close to going down the epic rabbit hole.

To be fair there were only about six of them at the time and several fitted nicely into existing trade runs.
Ralph got very upset when he found a non Epic in with the Epics. I explained it had content in it that was soon to be replaced by an epic and was keeping the spot warm.
However as things progress I see that spaces in the existing Epics may get filled by non Epics.

I've found three Marvel Comics Presents stories in that time period: MCP 105 Thing: "Crystal Quest" MCP 164 Thing: "Rabbit Stu" MCP 165 Fantastic Four: "Confrontation" That's probably another issue's worth.

Whatever annuals they crossed over with during the time as that was during Marvel's 4 part annual crossover with annuals.

I might be remembering this wrong but wasn't there a Fantastic Four 99c series like Untold Tales Of Spider-Man? Either that or could it be the awful Fantastic Force? EDIT: I'm so glad I remembered I disliked the cover art by Jim Calafiore, was able to find the name of the series that way. The series was Fantastic Four Unplugged.
