"Unlock the power of the decepticon cyberkey! The key can insert in the back of Starscream’s translucent weapon for a powerup blast or it can insert in his back to infuse the chip forces power cosmic."
Could this be...a play feature??!!

We can do far worse....
I'm liking this. Yes it's not a Dodge Viper, but licensing costs will have put paid to that. Shadowstriker was nice, but obviously going to be Sideburn and this has turned out better than I was expecting.

The key can peg into a slot in his back or the back of the gun, but neither is connected to anything. So play from the point of it inspiring imagination, but it doesn’t cause anything to happen on the toy…

Phil gets immense pleasure from the millimetres and they're a big part of putting things in holes. Must be a play feature.

I'm told some people use imagination when playing.

I’m enjoying Cybertron Starscream. He fits nicely with Legacy Armada Starscream as an update where they get away with hitting the play features by just making it very, very nice.
Like the original he shines in robot mode, which has a lot of presence and some surprisingly nice colors in-hand - the very dark blue is lovely. Not a lot to say about the alt-mode. Is there and he won’t spend much time in it.
Surprisingly he comes with some assembly required - the parts that mount on the arms and the tail fins are separate, presumably so he could fit in standard voyager packaging. He’s lanky but he spreads out a lot.
Amusingly, as my daughter pointed out, three of the steps in the instructions make it look like he’s doing a Cossack dance or something.
That same portion of the transformation had me wondering if he could have a BM Jetstorm pretool in there somewhere, the way his legs both form a point and also spread wide.

"Be sure to utilize his energon cyber blades that can manually flip out from his massively cool shoulder pilons." The tweet from the person says.... Pilon is a French surname. Why does he have massively cool french people attached to his shoulders? Karl

Well, the French are renowned for their coolness, maybe shoulder seats are 'in' this year?

If the new one is the one without green firing missiles, I might be inclined to agree.

Not really. Because not everyone was around 30 years ago to get the original.

Ebay and conventions exist. Sometimes I have looked at a new version of a toy and then went online and bought the older version instead. Sometimes works out cheaper. I'll be doing that for Cybertron Starscream.

If you want a Voyager Cybertron Starscream at that size for the price of the United Voyager, you'll be lucky to find it
The Voyager version of Cybertron Starscream in his show colours doesn't exist in the western Cybertron line
Voyager Starscream was sold in Galaxy Force in Japan at the start of the line and is £££ because people wanted him due to the lack of a western Voyager in the right colours
Cybertron got a MASSIVELY oversized version or a version in different colours.
Legacy United Cybertron Starscream at Voyager size is one of the more worthy redos that they've done

The new one is the one without the green firing missiles. I had thought the new one was smaller but it's much of a muchness height wise. New one is less bulky but it doe have a wider wing span. The original had two positions for the outer half of the wings: swept down/back or up/forward (robot/beast mode) The new one removes the trigger mechanism there which then allows the wings to be stretched out to the sides properly. Colour mix is interesting on the new one: the blue is now purple, ala show, and they've ditched the green. I hadn't realised quite hoe show accurate the goldy brown is: I thought the designers were throwing it in so Airazor's colours had more representation on the new toy and to make it different enough to do a toy accurate version down the line ;-) Tigerhawk is, like Cybertron Starscream, an absolutely top choice for a remake but for different reasons. Popular show character again but his toy was barely available at the end of the Beast Wars line as Transformer toys in the US got cleared out for Episode 1. I think I saw the UK version ONCE. When Nick got a boxed one the other year I can recall him commenting on the call "How often do you see those?" And he is TWENTY FIVE YEARS OLD!

I do seem to remember Ed having one, but not at the time the show was out. Might have to enquire how that came about.

They were definitely available here, I saw one in a small toyshop in Twickenham, and I found a Biocombat boxed one on eBay tonight that went for £85 quid!
I could also believe there was some excess UK stock that never reached shelves at the time and popped out the system somewhere that I never saw!
