25th Anniversary figures. Discovered these on-line. My brother was heavily into Action Force while I was mainly into TFs as children. When I drifted outa TFs at the end of G1, I started bashing around the AF figs I stole from him, and ones I got myself. They're locked away in the loft somewher now. But when I spotted these figs (which I believe have been around for a while! der), I had such an intense nostalic embolism! I was lucky enough to get several of the figs I was after on clearance from Big Bad Toy Store (Gods postage is expensive!!), they arrived this very AM, and I'm soooo pleased with them! Got some the 25th versions of many of my fave old figs, and got some of the characters I always wanted, but never owned. Gosh, I'd forgotten all about Action Force! I can see some MAJOR confrontations with them and my Alts/MPs!
Figs I've now got: Duke Scarlet Roadblock Gung-Ho Snake Eyes Beach-head Shipwreck Breaker Destro Firefly Comic Storm Shadow (great version this)
And more on the way.... inc some Cobras, Crimson Gaurd and Cobra Commander (God Mrs Shockprowl's gunna kill me...)

For my money there's a very clear dlineation between Gi Joe and Action Force.
GI Joe is anything that turned up first in the US
Action Force is the SW Figure style UK figures and the GI Joe repaints that go with them.
So the last year of the original Action Force cards -- which was the GI Joe year 2 figures, and the first .... was it 3? 4? years of the Action Force picture cards are all GI Joe.
I've got the w1 Snake Eyes and Storm Shadow and they are nice. Must get Spirit and Beachhead and when they do they Snow Job and Blizzard.

I'll just always think of it as Action Force 'cos that's what I grew up with.
I can confirm that Beachhead is fantastic. One of my faves! Think there is a Snow Job on pre-order on BBTS.
I need Cobra Troopers... Lots of Cobra Troopers...

Received another haul of 25th. A Crimson Gaurd/Cobra Officer comic 2 pack was on clearance, so grabbed 4 of 'em! Really nice figs. Cobra Commander is brilliant. But my faves from this haul are the Dreadnoks! Again, comic 2 pack on clearance (Ripper and Torch) and individual fig Buzzer. Great new versions. Habro are clearly using alot of reusable body parts with this line. But so far it's working out ok. The styling of the figs isn't suffering too much. Shame some of the elbows don't bend 90 degrees.

Some GI Joe figures have turned up in A1: various carded figures (£8) and vehicle + figure packs (£20). Also, there are figure 4-packs that come with a DVD (£20). The one that caught up my eye had Cobra Commander, Snake Eyes, Major Bludd and Andu's Favourite GI Joe character: Quick kick. If I was going to buy any GI Joe toys it would be that set. Decent price for what you get and I do have a soft spot for Snake Eyes and the Cobra Commander.

A1 has in some nice GI Joe sets. One has five heroes inc Flint and the other has five villains inc Cobra Commander. They look like re-issues of the original figures to my untrained eye. I admit I'm quite tempted. They would make a nice wee 'vs' collection to go up against my TF Action Masters. Though I would have to add a Destro and a Specialist Trakker to make the set complete.

Oh, they're great as 'Vs' figs. My troop of Cobras periodically set up against some Alternators or Marvel Showdowns.

I have seen them in FPG, A1 Comics and TRU Govan. Not aware of any offers in the latter. There are two different Snake Eyes (one with wolf, one without) and Storm Shadow (one with tuft of hair, one with full head of hair) figures btw. £7.99 a pop.

Didn't you see my thread in Stock Exchange? I've had them a couple of weeks, now. (Nice they are, too. I've been tempted to keep a few, especially Shipwreck.) I've sold out of a few characters, including Snake Eyes, sorry, though I still have one Storm Shadow left.
Wave 1.5 should be here on Monday, which I think has the second versions of the Arishikages.
I'm expecting to take any G.I.Joe I still have in stock to Auto Assembly.

Swindon TRU had what I needed. Came out with Snake Eyes & Storm Shadow - first movie versions - and whatever it is that the Armadillo is now called.

Do you think that they have enough accessories? The missile launchers could do with being a bit bigger.

www.yojoe.com/action/09/ and look at the Rise of Cobra sections if you're curious. Any missile firing gun looks huge on a Joe figure - they did when they were introduced in the 90s. Thunderblast looks great with Snake Eyes' cannon though !

I need some help
Has anyone got any of the 80s Action Force/UK GI Joe cardbacks still ? Not the orange fronted ones, the mainly black fronted ones with character art.
I need them scanned/photographed at a reasonable resoloution as I'm trying to work out which figure came out when in the UK.
I'm OK for the first year - can remember what figures came out then - but I can't remember which were carried over to the second year and from there on it gets very hazy.
Also if anyone has any of the catalogue leaflets that they don't want I'll gladly take them off your hands !

My my. What a coincidence that BOTH Destro and Cobra Commander have horribly burned faces... but why does one get a mask while the other is repaired by nano-termites that turn his skin silver? In any event... I like the picture of Cobra Commander.... he was always my favorite character. Interested to see how he's portrayed in the movie and what his secret is...

Right .... I now need images of the following UK / europe figures carded - all are the 1993 versions not the original 1992 issues
Captain Gridiron Night Creeper Rock Viper Metal Head Dusty Laser Viper Stalker - may be the same as the 91/2 version Salvo Static Line Bullhorn Pathfinder Range Viper
These may or may not have additional weapons to the US releases - I want to work out who got what.
(I know what extras the remaining 1992 figures that were carried over got upgraded with)

Saw the ROC figures for £6 with the small vehicles for £12 in Tescos yesterday. That's more like it.
A pile of damaged original joes arrived this morning - I've spent the day rebuilding figures !
