Isn't it sad that for many of my dealings with the DWP I can just pull up letters I've used previously and change the dates?

It's FRIDAY 1st December!!!
Yesterday: Day went OK but pain levels higher than usual. Tumble Dryer finally died, been making a racket for week, so new one ordered. Pain levels higher than recent days so didn't function so well. But managed to rebuild the Echo Base set I dropped earlier in the week.
Today: J college then out tonight. Think an Epic is due in the post. FAMK 404

Enjoyed a stroll around the Swindon Museum of Computing, which had a tape translation machine in it called Teltran. Played Arcadians on a real BBC Micro for the first time in thirty years. Then a fine Biplob lunch with Phil and Liz, and back to Cardiff, reading the copy of David Mitchell’s ‘Unruly’ that I’ve got my sister for Christmas on the train.

Been mostly inside today - partly due to feeling a bit generally *bleh* due to the time of year, and partly because a trip out to get my brain-pills convinced me that my lungs would appreciate me not going too much further, even with the protection of the flappy-coat.
Had a reasonably productive day though - with the promise of Doc-T-or-Who being required later, before a Zoom call rounds off the day. Not a bad time of it all told.

Aaand, it seems that I have also acquirred my new shoes as well. Didn't realise they were due to delivery today, so it is a good thing I stayed in.
Tell you what though - buying shoes does bring home the increase in the cost of living (*). The same manufacturer, design and size of shoes that cost me just shy of £80 before delivery last year, cost me just shy of £100 this year...
(* - note, I don't buy expensive shoes cause I want to. I can't buy cheap stuff off the rack due to a hereditary design issue concerning my feet - I need ones that will stretch to fit my oversized big-toe joint, whilst still fitting everywhere else. Hence I end up having to use a specialist retailer of which the nearest one is something like Manchester... And yes, this is in addition to the design issue which affects my knee joints that some folk are aware of. My family often end up with a surprisingly broad skill-base and with unusual perks. But we pay for it by taking a ridiculous number of Drawbacks to get the points. I don't recommend it is a way to build characters... :-) )

Usually we have a traditional advent calendar in the living room in December. A nice Christmas scene with windows to open. This year innovation has reached us. I have been gifted a cheese advent calendar. Yes, actual cheese. December 1st had a piece of cheddar in it, yesterday aged Red Leicester. This month is going to be a voyage of discovery.
The down side is that it takes up quite a lot of space in the fridge.

And having gone out yesterday to get my brain pills I have just discovered that I forgot to take them last night. Which would explain a great deal about how this morning went all told...
Ah well, tomorrow is another day (and one I have as annual leave too!)
