Tonight I received two VERY EXCITING videos. Regular readers will remember I've mentioned before I have an Omegatron that hasn't worked for decades. One I bought from a shop in town in the mid-eighties as a kid with paper round money. I also have a chum who is a whizz at fixing things, he that fixed my BBC micro. He took my Omegatron earlier and just sent me videos of the tank moving and robot walking! Having opened him up he said all that was wrong was that the motor had seized. Few drops of oil and he's good as new. I'm over the moon! Omegatron lives!

Nice.
I saw a video of someone restoring a ... something.... and it had a seized up motor. I was shocked its such a simple fix.

I really thought it would be some wiring that had come loose because the transformation tilts the head part back and forth, but no. Just oil needed.

I repaired an Omegatron recently, but nothing as clever as that. But thanks to this post I now know that maybe I can take the leftover deconstructed tank and revivify it using nothing but a drop of oil.

I still weep that Hasbro have never done an Omegatron repaint.
Missed opportunity, such a good looking lad.
