Having grabbed a tatty Cyclops and classic era Sabretooth at a comic mart a while back, the urge is upon me to assemble a bit of a Toybix X-men collection.

I still have all of mine, and only just now are they making some of the stuff I would have killed for way back then.
But yeah, the Toybiz X-Men era are one of the few things that triggers nostalgia for me.

The X-Men 97 wave 2 preorder was up at ID and ships around my birthday.
A Nightcrawler, Magneto in the big M outfit, JEAN!!!!!!, Goblin Queen, X-Cutioner and Cyclops, well how could I say no.

I preordered all but X-Cutioner.
The last wave, I ended up cancelling most of them due to funds. Let's see if I keep or kill most of these (Jean will never be cancelled)

The fact that Jean Grey was one of my all time most coveted characters, while being one of the most egregiously absent characters in the entire run of Toybiz (and even HASBRO!), has given me such a complex that I damn near salivate whenever I see a new toy in her Jim Lee costume.
Toybiz only did two figures of her in this costume, ever. Both towards the end of the independent X-Men lines, before they switched to Marvel Legends exclusively. One was gorgeous, but out of scale to everything, and had a preposed sculpt that was weird and made her articulation worthless (part of the Onslaught line of four figures). The other was not as well sculpted, and had weird technogreeble over her costume, but was normal sized and normally posed, and came with a vehicle (Space Riders, I think?)
We would not get another Jean in her 90s Lee costume until towards the end of Hasbro's 3.3/4 ML line.
And the NEXT one would not happen for several more years, and she would be in a two pack with Cyclops. That one was like... two years ago?

So, I was in Forbidden Planet this afternoon, and did give the Marvel stuff a brief peruse. But I did not leave with the Maddie that they had.
That's right, I saw a Madelyne Jennifer Pryor(-Summers) and felt no temptation...

I now have eight Marvel Legends X-Men. Wolverine, Jubilee, Storm, Psylocke, Banshee, Forge and Gambit in the Jim Lee blue and yellow, and a Rogue in the black bodysticking, green swimsuit version (best Rogue).
I need Marvel to do a Whilce Portacio version of Cyke and Jean and then I can get an matching X-Factor team.
