I've currently got Crimsonflame in dragon mode on my desk, with the human figure from Nezha riding on his head. And to make him look like he's flying... he's perched on the flight stand that he comes with. Which is a nice place to leave him resting when I'm not fiddling with him. Because I can pretend I have a flying dragon next to me as I work. Thanks to the flight stand. I like his flight stand.

Those comparison photos just make me happier with the originals, however yellowed etc. they currently are! I definitely prefer the proportions on Prime's cab robot on the original, and he just strikes me as more visually interesting.
They've done that thing with him they've often done in recent years of sort of "normalising" the robot mode proportions and it makes them much less interesting to me. I know it works for others, and it's entirely subjective as an aesthetic choice, but I once again don't feel like I'm missing out on anything here personally.

Im bang in the middle. While I dont like the change in proportions, I understand and agree with them. This transformation is always going to end up with small robot, big thighs or large robot small thighs. We already had the latter and my guess is most people will spend most of the time in super mode. What Im not a fan of is squaring off of the thighs, waist and chest. At best they look generic at worst plain bad. The torso is the worst of it, I get the vibe they have tried making it look more like a traditional G1 Prime torso and it looks wrong as a result. At he very least I'd have liked the top of the silver painted parts to have been parrallel with the "windscsreen"/chest pieces. And Im thinking even if they are probably right to ditch the chrome I would have kept the contrast by painting and or casting some of it in a darker red. |

Yes and no. we were still in the middle of Hasbros flaking chrome jobs. It was never going to work, but a better quality chrome that avoided the scraping and clipping areas could have worked. Especially here where they knew the issue and could have worked around it.
