...or any KO that is bigger than the original?
For context I am arguing with an ebay seller about whether or not a toy that is bigger than the original should be called oversized. They specifically stated "this is not oversized" but it is. They say that it is between G1 and oversized. I think they're talking nonsense but I would like to check with you lot as you are very knowledgable and have been selling toys at TFNation and whatnot for a long time so would probably know.
Thanks in advance!

Anything bigger than normal is oversized though someone might have an odd idea that it's got to be x times larger

I always thought of Pretender Classic Bumblebee as oversized, or maybe he just seemed to be because they shrunk Grimlock, Jazz and Starscream to his height. Likewise with Bumblebee being the same height as all the other Action Masters.

Funny thing, if you watch the commercial for the Classic Pretenders you'll notice they're all human sized, even as robots.

Well, I work in a library and we have a category of stock called "Oversized books" - the definition of this is "books that are larger than the normal size range for bookstock". So, by analogy a bootlegged toy that is larger than the toy it is bootlegged from is oversized. That would be my expectation.
They are clearly using some specific definition of oversized which varies from the common usage of language. The onus would then to determine what that definition is.
I suspect that they operating on some assumption either that something is only oversized if it is twice the original size or larger, or that it is sold by some webstore somewhere as OSKO. But it would be up to them to explain their categorisation really.
I suspect you'd get a more meaningful answer by asking them, than by asking us to speculate about their rationale though.

Thanks everyone. I have learned over the years that just because I have not heard of something, it doesnt mean that it isn;t a thing so it seemed necessary to check with others who might know better than me. I appreciate the responses

Yeah. In this context oversized just means an upscaled knock-off. There's no specific ratio for the size.
