Based on looks alone, this looks pretty much like almost every other Disney+ Star Wars or Marvel TV show - nothing is visually screaming out to watch it. But I remain a sucker for lightsabers, and more to the point the acting talent in this one - notably Carrie-Ann Moss and Dafne Keen - suggests that it won't just be a by-the-numbers thing, so I'll be watching.
I mean I was always going to be watching. It's a Star Wars project. I can't help myself.

That looks deeply dull and generic. Also suffers from the current lighting fad of making everything so dark you can't see what the fuck is going on.
Pass.

I am assuming it's something Sith related, ah well they can't all be Andor.

"Contents: 90% Mechanically Recovered Star Wars."...
Not really feeling that.

Reviews seem to be good, so I'm cautiously not pessimistic...

Decided to give this a go. First two episodes mediocre at best, episode three terribly dull. Nothing original or interesting going on here at all.

I didn't hate it, some of its enjoyable but I struggled to see the point of it

I will keep going with it, but I'm sure if this didn't have the Star Wars name supporting it, it wouldn't have got much attention. As a sci-fi/fantasy type story it's not stepping outside any well worn tropes.

That's one thing that did annoy me a little, it's set a century or so before ep 4 or ep1, but visually it looks exactly like everything from ep4 onwards. What ever didn't work about the prequels, the art deco look of them tells a story and establishes a clear distinction with later episodes.
There's just non of that here.
Possibly less justified, but I the same annoyance about House of Dragons.

I saw the trailer for the next show (Skeleton Crew). I am sure the internet will be coping very well.

I'm a bit disappointed as I enjoyed the last few episodes. I wholly agree with the comments above regarding the visual similarity to other SW. Like no one thought to make the Jedi look different. Bet they regret ending on a cliffhanger now. Playing the 'ongoing narrative' game in these times of tightening purse strings is pretty dangerous. I also remember saying to a friend I found the first two episodes utterly boring and lacking in dynamism in the directing, so I can see why people turned off.

I think I've only got as far as watching the first four. Need a binge I think to clear that off.

I didn't bother with it though am aware of the hilarious "The power of one" song.
If I went back in time and told young Ralph that:
A: There would actually be new Star Wars stuff. B: Old Ralph wouldn't be interested in watching it all...
...then I would have exploded!

I feel bad for the fans and I hate if toxic fanboys did have any affect on Disneys decision, but almost every person Ive read who loved the show seems to love it because of its representation (or some variation of).... but that just isnt enough.
It was fine, indivdual episodes were good, performances were good. But the writing was bland, weird things happened late on and as I said visually it was same old and throughtout I just kept asking "why is this?"
I would have watched a second season, but I cant find any energy to care that there wont be.

The only thing I will miss is Rodent Tracker Man. I'll never find out his name or motivations or understand his manipulations.
Was he a coward, genius or was he the new "Jar Jar is a Sith".
Dammit! I was wrong I want more Acolytes!

"Did you ever hear the tragedy of Darth Plagueis the wise?" "No." "Well you never will - it got cancelled."
I'm disappointed by this news. Whilst I was able to enjoy some of it, and liked the ideas behind it, despite the lightsaber fights being some of the best that Star Wars has ever provided the rest of the series was really badly paced and executed. Now I'm a fan of slow, thoughtful storytelling... but only when it's done well and with a point and it's not just people staring off into the middle-distance for ages at a time for no reason. I think if the Acolyte had been a film it would've been great, but at eight episodes there just wasn't enough going there to maintain interest. It's a shame, because this is something they could've corrected on reflection in a second series. But now we'll never know...

Finally watched. Definitely would have benefitted from being trimmed down and posed some interesting questions of the morality of Jedi practices with regards to other cultures and how they treat children. Enjoyed the second half of the series. Who was Vernestra talking to on the comm? Almost sounded like Ian McDiarmid.
The knowledge that the force can be used to create a child certainly feeds in to the Plageuis / Sidious long term plot.
How The Stranger taking an apprentice works with the rule of two if he's the apprentice of Plageuis.
