Interesting. Ultimately just a rolling rebrand, but at least it accommodates the different design philosophy.

The more I see better pictures of this, the more I think it looks...a bit shit. £270!!!

It is, at best, an £80 Commander.
And I'd be waiting on a sale.

Also doesnt appear to be doing anything that couldnt be done as a generations voyager or leader.

Agreed, I'd like a redo of PM Prime with Marvel head.

I got completely out of MP for years, but was pulled back in for Skids (and all his repaints to date) and the trainbots. I don’t think either of those would be done better in generations, but I agree on the point for most other stuff I see. There’s no doubt Skids‘ generations toy could have been significantly better than it was, but the MP is legit one of the best MPs of all time. I wouldn’t object to a more toy-like pick-up-and-play Raiden, but the Trainbots are kind of amazing. You couldn’t get the mix of detailed realistic train modes, brilliant robot modes, and combinable to boot, in generations. There would have to be big compromises somewhere. But Ginrai / PMOP feels absolutely like it would have been better served by generations / HasLab. Everything about the original screams toy to me, something I’d want to pick up and play with and move between modes quickly.

Bit of an abb crunch going on there in the small robot. Super robot though looks like not enough abb and too much flab.

I would like to see the back views of both of these. Probably not a good sign that we haven't already.

Why didn't I get the God Ginrai reissue from HLJ when it was £10, convinced myself that with the shipping it wasn't worth it as I had Nucleon Quest Convoy.

Regretting that I didn't get it when it was £20 in Toysaurus because I already had my original Powermaster Prime at home. What a fool I was. (Very little has changed.)

I remember when the Burning orange variant was cheap at chips at a convention. Literally piles of them and I passed. Foolish young man I was!
