There's always a bit of a markup on the straight currency conversion though. I'm looking at those hips though - it looks like the top of the legs are attached to the hips just with pins. Surely not. That would make even a Deluxe size figure wobbly as heck.

In a froth of Movie Hype, I pounced on SS deluxe Optimus Prime when I saw one. I regret my descision.
As a display piece it's fine but as a toy not so much. It's hard to move his waist without the grey plastic pointed bits falling off the back (they are consumer applied out the box and do not secure well in the slots).
It has an odd extra crotch piece over the actual crotch, as if Prime is wearing pants. But his crotch piece easily pings off if you move the upper legs forwards. It's attached via thin tabs.
My copy also has a gouged scratch on the crotch piece out of the fucking box.
I should have held off until the big daft power flip thingy came out or the big nice Tomy Takara one.

I did see them in Smyths today, and I'll admit to being tempted - the only "new" Transformer I've seen in Smyths in ages. I decided that it didn't look worth £25 in the end... By the sounds of it I made the correct choice...

Ok, it's better on second impression. The gun thing on the back that I thought was falling off is actually meant to do that so it can be moved to the front of vehicle mode. It's just somewhere to store it in robot mode.
His pants move up so the legs can be brought fully up. You're meant to do that.
It does look nice.
Hmmm.
I don't think it's a great toy but I am less down on it than I was on first impression. I wouldn't rush out and get it though.

I rather like it. I feel they could have been more clever with the arms in vehicle. But my only real complaint is the hip piece needed to be pinned in.
