Shouldn't week 19 be entitled 84 this year?

Morning All!
It's Bank Holiday Monday - 2024 Week 19
Yesterday: Day started well after a good night's sleep with little pain in bright sunshine. Then the rain rolled in mid service and it wasn't so great after that. Discovered I'd got whichtrain company is striking which day confused which alters my plans for the week a bit.
Today: Leading 8am. Sorting rail tickets and packing ahead of trvelling what looks like tomorrow now.
Pray Day goes OK, Sinuses, CMT, tummy and Head cope OK. Pray I sleep well tonight, getting off to sleep promptly. Pray we stay protected from the virus.
Have a good day, stay safe & well.

40th anniversary and all.... Is it? I hadn't realised. Why have we got as far as May with nobody mentioning this? Martin

Every day is the fortieth anniversary of something.
I still read old comics on their 40th birthdays. This week Dave the orangutan was voted in as mayor in Mega City One, the amazing Maze Dumoir made her debut, Rogue kicked Gunnar in the nuts to stop him killing him, and over in Eagle, Servitor Vek was stripped of his title by the Dread Council of Nox and exiled to Earth for failing in his role as the Doomlord.

Morning All!
It's Tuesday
Yesterday: Not a good day. Head folded early on under pressure of too much to think about. Spent most of the day struggling to think straight, with a headache and sinus pain :-( Managed to pack, book tickets and assistance and I think I'm ready for London
Today: To The Trains! Now I thought GWR were on strike Weds, with SWR out today but it's the other way round. So UP is Swindon -> Reading -> Slough -> Ealing Broadway according to my booking. Since it's a 6 min interchange at RDG that's a no go, unless it's a same/cross platform job, so I expect to be put on an Elizabeth Line direct RDG to EAL. From Ealing Broadway a 65 down to Kingston, shopping and off to Mum's house.
Pray Day goes OK, Sinuses, CMT, tummy and Head cope OK. Pray I sleep well tonight, getting off to sleep promptly. Pray we stay protected from the virus.
Have a good day, stay safe & well.

Back from the inlaws. Exhausted. Just learned that most car rental places won't rent you a car if you don't have a credit card, which might prove problematic. Was a rubbish bank holiday for ebay sales but at least that means I don't have a lot to post out tomorrow.

Morning All!
It's Wednesday
Yesterday: as predicted, did not go to plan, thanks to the tight connection at RDG - some form of "I have a disability" button on train booking websites to increase connection time would be useful! So yes, missed connection at RDG, loaded onto later albeit direct train to EAL.... where the assistance failed to show up and I sat blocking at an open train door for 5 mins while staff could be found to unload me. 30 mins after that I was in Kew eating Dim Sum :-) Slight difficulty when I got here and it turned out I'd cracked the laptop screen en route so I'm on one of Mum's old computers for my stay with no Excel.
Today: Kingston Day 1: This is an extra day to what I'd planned due to navigating round the strike so nothing scheduled. Trip to town for food then Homegroup tonight.
Pray Day goes OK, Sinuses, CMT, tummy and Head cope OK. Pray I sleep well tonight, getting off to sleep promptly. Pray we stay protected from the virus.
Have a good day, stay safe & well.

Morning All!
It's Thursday
Yesterday: Trip to Kingston and back, via river, in chair. Quiet day. Homegroup on Zoom in the evening when I discovered why I'd not been getting messages from one of the group: I'd accidentally blocked them on my phone. How I have no idea, not sure how to do that deliberately and unblocking took a while.
Today: Maybe a trip in chair this morning. Dinner out tonight and, because of where I'm going, I can't take the chair. This might be challenging....
Pray Day goes OK, Sinuses, CMT, tummy and Head cope OK. Pray I sleep well tonight, getting off to sleep promptly. Pray we stay protected from the virus.
Have a good day, stay safe & well.

So, looks like my mobile 'phone may be on its last legs - it appears from last Saturday that it will no longer send text messages reliably. It is also receiving them only in fits and starts. I got a pile of texts from yesterday all in one go yesterday evening, then having deleted them to make space I got nothing today until 6 o'clock, when a large batch of texts from yesterday and today arrived... This is...slightly sub-optimal. Going to need to give myself a ring at some point and find out if it can still even make phone calls.
The battery also seems to be degrading - it wants to be charged a couple of times a week now, instead of going five or six days between charges.
I might have to go looking for a new mobile in the next few weeks. I hope I can still get something like the £5 Mobiwire thing that is reaching the end of its life.
Also been looking at portable hard-drives this evening. I remember when the 500gb one I'm currently using as my E:\ was nearly a ton. Now you can get 4TB portable drives for less than £90.00! The inexorable march of technology!

Seems like only yesterday I spent £120 of a student loan on a 4mb ram expansion for my Amiga 1200.

Morning All!
It's FRIDAY!!!!
Yesterday: Nice trip into Kingston first thing involving back streets and the river. Going out in the evening was a chore, I can't do the journey from Mum's to the bus stop on foot anymore :-( But lovely to see the people I'd arranged to meet and the other friend who was in the Thai when I got there.
Today: I think today will be a quiet down day. Dinner with another friend tonight, but I can get the chair in the restaurant this time :-)
Pray Day goes OK, Sinuses, CMT, tummy and Head cope OK. Pray I sleep well tonight, getting off to sleep promptly. Pray we stay protected from the virus.
Have a good day, stay safe & well.
