Oh I meant to say, Richard Molesworth has the first of a two-part interview with Terrance Dicks in this month's Infinity magazine. Conducted in 2017. Covers his wider career as opposed to just Doctor Who.

In other news, I'm not a fan of these 'world cup of' things, they seem a bit pointless to me because if the initial selection is random, you're not actually evaluating anything on it's own merit, just judging it against an arbitrary opponent. In sport that works because it gives underdogs a chance to progress if they perform well, but that doesn't translate to TV programmes because they are what they are. Underworld is never going to put on a good show and beat Fang Rock. It's nonsense.
On that note, the new DWM cover is awful. Awful.

Haha I did think of posting about that. This feels like mid-90s style DWM desperation. A cover dedicated to a few Twitter polls they ran!!

It feels like an old git trying to prove he's down with the kids and failing miserably.
Something my class are very familiar with.
Unless of course the kids are down with this, in which case... Well. I don't know.

I voted in their little twitter poll. But I didn't think it was front-page worthy!!! It was just a quick little thing they did!

Cracking bunch of freebies in the new DWM. This is another £9.99 issue but it doesn't seem to be a Smiths exclusive this time as subscribers have got it?

My subs copy has just arrived and it had all the gubbins. -Ralph That's what I mean. I wonder if this was supposed to be another Smiths special, but something changed. Whether than be corona related or whether Smiths don't want any more £10 issues. Seems too short notice to be corona related. Devil's Armada is a weird choice for the freebie BF download, although being a Season 14 special issue it's apt. That Hinchcliffe Boxed set has always maintained its very high price, so there's even less reason for anyone to buy it now just to get the other story.

Indeed. I waited a few years until it dropped in price in a sale but I don't begrudge readers getting it now.
FAB extra gubbins. I am now nostalgic for poster magazines. Kids today don't know what they are missing!

Bit poo that the comic in DWM is only 6 pages long this month. Did the mag budget go on the extra gubbins this issue?

Not with the price increase!
I was a bit disappointed the poster magazine didn't fold out to a proper poster, but two half sized ones. I share your nostalgasm for them though. I'm sure somewhere I have some kept, along with all the freebie posters from TF:UK I seem to have missing.

The Magazine paper stock has changed!!! -Ralph I've been stroking my DWM for the last five minutes and comparing it to last month's. Has it? I can't tell. Is it just the cover to give it a newspaper feel because of the terrible photoshop-filtered Victorian effect image they've used? I'm fondling the inner pages and I can't tell if they're different or not.

Fantastic. This kind of thing is such a better idea than the Blogs of Doom rubbish on the back page of DWM now.

FB showing that the next DWM is still coming out this week. This is a pleasant susprise as elsewhere, Panini have delayed their comics by a month and furloughed editorial staff on those titles. I had assumed DWM would be simarly affected.
Blueshift will be excited to see that Chris Chibnall is promised inside.

Been scratching my head wondering what the significance of the cover of the new DWM is since it turned up. I've only just twigged it represents the RTD/Moff interview.

DWM has arrived. The Current Situation means the comic has to skip the next 3 issues for economic reasons. Understandable but sad. And in other news HOW THE **** did THAT STORY come in as the 2nd best First Doctor story??!!! -Ralph

Feels like the current situ is beginning to bite now. Weak feeling issue all round on an initial flick through.
They need to sort out the covers too. A lot recently have been terrible. This one using a grainy old 60s pic with random swirly bits is even worse than those odd classic doctor closeups they did last year. I suspect these covers work better when the straplines are on them, but they really aren't a subscriber incentive. They need to go retro gamer's route and do totally different sub covers that use the space. The gaping holes on DWM sub covers just make you wonder what text you're missing.
