Morning All!
It's Bank Holiday Monday - 2024 Week 35
Yesterday: Insanely busy. Two trips to the garage, each time accompanied by a van load of shelves & books. The intended 3 Evar unit by the door is in & straight. The two Evar unit to the rear has been straightened and the Epics are all in their new home, if not quite in the right order.... yet. FAB lunch with everyone at ours between trips but absolutely shattered after.
Today: Trying for a lie in this morning to compensate. If I can a trip to the garage to correct the ordering on the books. Trip out for tea fo a silver wedding annversary.
Pray Day goes OK, Sinuses, CMT, tummy and Head cope OK. Pray I sleep well tonight, getting off to sleep promptly. Pray we stay protected from the virus.
Have a good day, stay safe & well.

ah bank holidays! today i am at my mum's on the other side of the country and we are about to go for a nice walk. tomorrow i drive home via my father's, where i will attempt to convince a man who is incapable of empathy the necessity for basic bio-security. he is refusing to do a covid test on the grounds that he doesn't need to, despite having visited hospitals this week where covid is running unchecked, and suggesting that my mum, whose life he knows nothing about, probably has covid and i should be worrying about that. my mum is doing a pcr test for me every day, incidentally. making me very sad and stressed. you'd think that having not seen me in person in more than five years he might be a bit more willing to make very basic concessions to my access needs but he is nothing if not consistent. hope you all have less stressful relationships with the people who are supposed to care about you.

Sorry to hear that. My own parental units have essentially abandoned all precautions because they believe what they are told by the press - that old people have been vaccinated now so there is nothing to worry about.
Others of my family, those of us who are specifically vulnerable or Clinically Extremely Vulnerable continue to take precautions regardless, and they at least don't give us any hassle about what we are doing.
(Unlike random strangers like the person I walked past yesterday - "Why are you wearing that mask. Covids over. It's just weird now". Excuse me for not wanting another near-death experience like I had with pneumonia ta.)
Sorry that you are having that sort of stress with family. :-(

Thanks Karl Lots of our covid conscious community get flak off of passers by for masking, and my brother has too, but I never have. Not sure why but I long may it last. It's a shame that people don't understand the risks, but not a surprise. It's just sad when family members won't at least humour you. My Dad reckons that its only elderly and vulnerable people who are risk. I have two responses - firstly, that elderly and vulnerable people don't want to die and should be protected anyway, and secondly, he is 72 and has had a near fatal pneumonia and cancer both within the last decade and so should probably consider himself both elderly and vulnerable. I guess he doesn't want to think about. Mask-wearing solidarity!

Whew, I needed the bank holiday today to regenerate. Returned yesterday from a nice holiday in Stratford-upon-Avon with my dad. Saw a couple of RSC plays, had some nice meals out, and saw the amazing falconry display at Warwick Castle. But the trains back yesterday were not cooperating.
Back to work tomorrow!

My folks were over for bank holiday visiting of N before she starts school next week.
They both seemed reluctant to go for the free (!) COVID vaccination this year as Mom didn't like that it made her feel a bit ill after. I made it clear I expect them both to go and the benefits of protection far outweigh the risks of not having it. And that I wish I had the luxury of declining a free vaccination!
My local Boots pharmacy will do me one for £100 which is pricey, but also which I am seriously inclined to do given my health has not got back to 100% since I was in hospital this time last year. Seeing my GP again about that at some point in the next few weeks and will make a point to ask her if she thinks I am well enough to get the jab to see if that nudges them to give me one for free.

I stopped mask wearing etc a while ago for the sake of my mental health and have resumed usual life stuff, for the same reasons. I get vaccinated whenever I can access them. It has become *very* difficult to access vacinations though, which makes me very cross.

Morning All!
It's Tuesday
Yesterday: Quiet morning with lie in, early to bed then up at three to go out for a silver wedding anniversary tea. Head fell off slightly when I got there :-( (unexpected access issue, too many people, too loud) But managed to recover. After that I went to the garage and corrected the Epics order.
Could have slept better: pain and thinkyness (head was trying to place stuff in garage) followed by some very odd dreams (someone with a face on the front and the back of their head)
Today: Not sure. Maybe not much. L working so hoping to take J for lunch before he goes back to college next week.
Pray Day goes OK, Sinuses, CMT, tummy and Head cope OK. Pray I sleep well tonight, getting off to sleep promptly. Pray we stay protected from the virus.
Have a good day, stay safe & well.

So, I woke up originally at 06:30 this morning. But managed to go back to sleep between 06:45 and 10:00hrs.
Been out for a walk to my favourite cafe for coffee and a couple of chapters of a book. Back home for a late lunch and to make a start on the next phase of my clearout. Decided my Godzilla vinyl toys need to go - they've been sat in my cupboard in a box since before I left Scotland. I'm not dragging them through a possible second move in the same state, so into the charity shop bag they go. Same thing with most of my Nerf stuff. Better it be passed on so that some kid somewhere can bounce darts off their sibling than it sit unused in my cupboard.
Started my next lot of toy-fu donations too, with a token Go-Bot (Heatseeker) beginning selected to perform the Ritual of Passing Along.

Morning All!
It's Wednesday
Yesterday: I suppose that was quieter and a bit more normal.... morning a challenge after bad night but made it out to lunch with J. Came home to find an email from the post office saying my wednesday redelivery was out for delivery which disrupted my plans to get stuff done in the garage but Swoop arrive just before Liz left for her Mum's so J and I went too. Essentials mostly in, one box still here, Omnibuses shelved, boxes from London opened and about 50% shelved. V tired again in evening and head in a whirl. Head fell off again when I spilt lemonade all over the floor, not got any give in me for sudden surprises/accidents like that
2am, again. :-( V tired this morning
Today: Probably a quieter day. Liz out so no box transport, though I'm tempted to send J down with her when she goes to fetch her Mum to put the boxes filled yesterday evening in the garage. Sideburn due from Pulse. Must open Swoop!
Pray Day goes OK, Sinuses, CMT, tummy and Head cope OK. Pray I sleep well tonight, getting off to sleep promptly. Pray we stay protected from the virus.
Have a good day, stay safe & well.

Morning All!
It's FRIDAY!!!!
Yesterday: Bit of a blur thanks to lack of sleep tis week. Waited in for a parcel but when I checked the tracking it turned out it was at the other end of the country. Got another parcel and some books. Got some stuff done in the garage and have a plan of attack for what next. A long plan ....
1am ish. It's better than 2am.
Today: L & J out for lunch. I'm home alone. If my parcel comes early (or the tracking still says it's in Halifax!) I may go to the garage and get stuff done.
Pray Day goes OK, Sinuses, CMT, tummy and Head cope OK. Pray I sleep well tonight, getting off to sleep promptly. Pray we stay protected from the virus.
Have a good day, stay safe & well.

Morning All!
It's SATURDAY!
Yesterday: Tinsy tiny bit mad, but in a good way. Westher was excelent so felt a bit better. Rang Post Office and was reassured that A) it was my parcel in Halifax and B) They'd notice, filed it as a mis-sort and it would work it's way back to me. Then about 10:15 I left to go and do a few bits in the garage. I was in there three hours and was so shattered by the end it was untrue but loads down, an awful lot of it from sat on the floor. Large pile of stuff to be ToyFu'd. Rest of the day a bit of a tired and painful blur but v pleased by what I managed to do. I will now pay for it physically for the next few days!
Off promptly just after midnight, THANK YOU LORD, and slept through to c9am
Today: Not much!!!! J going to help his Grandmother so I'll get him to get pictures of what it looks like now. TMUK Zoom tonight.
Pray Day goes OK, Sinuses, CMT, tummy and Head cope OK. Pray I sleep well tonight, getting off to sleep promptly. Pray we stay protected from the virus.
Have a good day, stay safe & well.
