Morning All!
It's Monday - 2024 Week 39
Yesterday: BUSY morning at church. Quiet afternoonn and evening. Stuff sent to garage but weather had enough of a hit to prevent me going. 4 books arrived, Yodel don't normally deliver to me on a Sunday.
Remembered about something at 5 to 1 this morning and had to get back up to do it. Awake then until best part of 2:30, woken by weather and neighbour leaving for work at 6am :-(
Today: Leading 8am and 10am - new zoom link for both meetings. Hopefully the remaining book will show up. Doubt I'll be going far. Lovely smell of noodle soup from the kitchen so I know what I'm having for lunch :-)
Pray Day goes OK, Sinuses, CMT, tummy and Head cope OK. Pray I sleep well tonight, getting off to sleep promptly. Pray we stay protected from the virus.
Have a good day, stay safe & well.

First day back at the university today, I'm not sure if that's a tragedy or not...

I'm awake and it's Monday. That's tragedy enough.
On the other hand, I have tea. Things aren't so bad.

It took me almost a minute to parse this and work out the wordplay. You'd think I'd have done better after thirty-seven episodes of Kyoryuuger, with Kyoru Blue doing at least one groan-inducing bit of wordplay an episode. Well done Phil!
Woke at 6 this morning, and dozed off again until 7:20am. Fortunately I was working from home, so I was still able to start at 8am as planned. Hopefully this is me caught up on the sleep I was missing last week all being well. We shall see what we shall see.

Although I don't think it's the first time I've used this one. I get to week 39 and it says .... which then leads the head on to ... I will leave posting the video for a few more days so not to spoil it for those it is vexing!

First day back at the university today, I'm not sure if that's a tragedy or not... Walking down towards the main entrance one of my ankles subluxed under me and I went for a tumble, and now I have a right hand that is cut and bruised and a left foot that I can't put any weight on. Then I got an email telling me that I didn't need to be in today. So yeah, a comedy-tragedy at least...

Couple of calls on my day off I had to attend, to do with the SB wind down. Job safe for a while yet, folks I know not so lucky.
Suki has been unwell the last couple of days, lots of mess. Back to normal today, but I have been vigilant and will be so for a few days yet.

Next meeting at my place is the 23rd. Will I know any more about my job after that? Who can say. Place your bets now.
Still waking up at 3 - 4am which isn't helping anything, and I felt rather *bleh* today. (My state of mind was not helped by learning that the spouse of someone working in the same office as myself currently has COVID). COVID test came back clear, but we shall see if that is still the case at the weekend when I test ahead of the toy fayre.

I have had the opportunity to ponder what happens if I do have to get a new job though. Thinking I probably won't stay here - no reason to, I moved to Northampton to do this job. If I am unemployed, or if they shove me into a different job that isn't what I am suited to doing then there is no particular reason to stay here.
Time to put together a contingency strategy for lightening the load if I do end up moving northwards again I think.

Keep an eye on OU jobs. They are a good employer and offer remote work.

Keep an eye on OU jobs. They are a good employer and offer remote work. -Ralph That will be considered - colleagues from where I currently work have gone on to work for them at Milton Keynes, and they do have a good rep within the sector. They do seem to be pretty good, and I could see how my current skillset could be of use to them. Karl

Went to a story-walk thing with N at her school yesterday morning. We were hosted by a Pirate called 'Captain Carl' which caused her confusion as it wasn't the right 'Kaptain Karl' that she already knows. She was very good with her treasure map reading skills and arrrrr-ing though.

She was very good with her treasure map reading skills and arrrrr-ing though. Ah, clearly this "Carl" was only a regular pirate, not a Space Pirate. That's a useful way to differentiate... Good to hear that Naomi's basic pirate skills are developing well though! Remember that she'll need good swashbuckling and rope-swinging to round-out her skill set! Karl

N will continue to practice her swashbuckling skills on Uncle Ralph. She has already vowed to relieve him of Science Stickers at the science day this Saturday. She is well aware he cannot say no to her (for fear for his life if nothing else!).

I will have 2000 science stickers on Saturday. -Ralph If you perform well I may reward you with some stickers. Hoarding them all to yourself and not giving them away to small attendees is not performing well.
