Something like this? Any other details from the Minibot that are a must to import? He must have claw hands! Yes! The clamps! He must have the clamps! But he won't. Although given Bumblebee I'll be surprised if they actually bother remolding his head...

I continue to be baffled by that Bumblebee decision. Make an explicitly retro themed line with the original box art, redo the heads to give people a reason to buy them, and just... not give him the same head as the box art right next to him?
It makes no sense to me.
If it was the same head as the Netflix one, I'd be tempted to think this was another Rotorstorm situation where they used the base as a placeholder, but...it's very obviously a different head.
Means Bee is an easy pass or wait until dirt cheap in a sale though.

I think that's the same head as before. We're comparing the CGI for the new one with the actual toy for the original WFC. Digging the CGI for the original out and he has pointier horns

Either way it doesn't matter cos it should look like this:

It'll be a head and colours job like Gears, but that's enough. These two are going to look SO much better. Now the question is, have they managed to do Seaspray as well as Cosmos was done for the Velocitron line.

I'm down for that Bee. I still think the flix one looks better than the Studio Series one and if this one has brighter yellows more like the G1 then I'll have that over the SS86 one. Neither have the right head, so you can't really win either way.

I like it too and think it's better than Netflix.
But I'd still like this one to have the toy head.

If anyone wants a 'retro' Bumblebee with the original style toy head and G1 packaging, there is literally one coming out in the next month in the 'Missing Link' line. Problem solved.

Different size class though. Using that logic Legacy Beachcomber would have been the pottop one.

This is the hill I've chosen to die on: SS86 Bumblebee is not any more sunbow accurate than the Netflix Bee. Maybe if you look exclusively at animation errors, it is, but not to the times they got him correct to his own animation model. A Netflix Bee redeco should have been SS86. Meanwhile this new mold should have veered even harder into toy accuracy to compliment the upcoming Toy Optimus. Wheels on the arms, and all that. Give him the cartoon head and typical deco for standard release, and then toy head and this deco for Retro release.

It's perfect! And they already have the mold for the head from existing reuses of the Huffer mold! Which pretty much guarantees that they'll never do it.

Brawn and Huffer really do also need their hands remolded into their claws to look like they ate trying to pull off the toy look. Won't happen, I know.
