Slightly unexpectedly SW TFs make a comeback from Takara:

That... I was not expecting. And will be staying away from - they're not the best molds. Which is a shame.

At the weekend I saw the Han and Chewie Falcon SWTF in a charity shop in the box. £65! It stayed there.

New designs? My TIE Advanced Darth Vader didn't look like that.

New molds? Huh. That had not registered with me, for some reason.

These ones almost look alright. That's not a bad Falcon.

Eh. I mean, yes. It's a good Falcon. But the robot modes... are as uninteresting as the Crossovers figures tend to be.

The robot mode somehow looks even worse than the last version.
Call me a fool but I like the original versions, they have a charm about them. I mean they're a pain in the arse to handle, it's less a transformation and more just picking pieces up that have fallen off and the robot nodes are daft/ugly in equal measure.
In spite of that they're fun, hefty, their vehicle modes look the business and it combines 2 of my favourite things.

Oh My Godfathers. Why do they keep churning these crossover figures out?! They're all ghastly!

Remember when there was a whole line of SW/TF Crossovers? Went on for years.
This feels in the same spirit. Turns into robot version of a SW character than New TF Character.
For £70 they could have chucked in a wee Baby Yoda though.

Remember when there was a whole line of SW/TF Crossovers? Went on for years. Piddled me off no end as it was out taking up shelf space when certain real Star Wars and Transformers were hard to get

Not really. There was hardly a shortage of SW and TF toy ranges on shelves.
Besides, this was a TF line anyway. Must have been successful too!

There were very specific assortments and waves being dropped for both lines at the time SW Tfs were running

Och it's fine.
I never bought any TF/SW toys as they weren't for me, but I did not mind them existing.
Please provide evidence this line blocked other specific lines from bring available. If they sold then it makes sense stores stocked them.

I can provide you with no direct evidence, but while the Star Wars crossovers were on the shelves Hasbro skipped over the Cybertron Minicon class, Deluxe wave 2, 4 & 9 and toys from waves 7 & 8 (they got a bit jumbled in the Euro waves) and at least Voyager Wave 4 tfwiki.net/wiki/Transformers:_Cybertron_(toyline)The SW TF toys shelf warmed round here. A very similar thing happened with the previous co branded Animorphs line that had a UK shelf presence while Beast Wars Transmetal 2 toys were unobtainable

SWTFs shelfwarmed everywhere. They were terrible toys with a bad concept. "Obi Wan Kenobi pilots a transforming mecha of himself." No one wanted that. They wanted it to be a new character (which is mostly what we get now), or TF characters reimagined as SW vehicles (which was what was common in TF crossovers at the time). And they were designed by SW people who do not make transforming toys. Marvel suffered the same exact two problems. With the added problem of very few marvel characters have iconic vehicles associated with them. And the few who do never turned into them. Why wasn't Wolverine a motorcycle?
Anyway. Mandobot here... His flightstand turn into a cape and shield... That's so fuggin' clever. And the naboo fighter is my absolute favorite vehicle in the SW universe. First SWxTF isn't a jedi, and it's my favorite vehicle. I'm so in.

I didn't.
I bought the Darth Vader when it came out, from Tescos the same night as Sideways & Snarl (Cybertron w3), first toys from each line that I saw over here. It did nothing for me, didn't buy any more, ebayed it a long time back
