I'd posit that this is the Earthspark replacement, but this is the sort of thing that used to be the mainline. Not the kind of toys hasbro likes to do for the mainline, anymore.

Hmmm. Animal robots that turn into components to combine with a main robot and power it up. This looks like a fun idea. Nice to see Tomy are still looking to make daft fun toys for their Transformers line.

Taking a closer look at the pictures, the shoulder of the main robot stays the same when combined, which bodes well for the arm being hidden when combined and not just hanging off the back like a forgotten vestigial limb.

Hasbro: Okay, so for next year for our main line we're going to focus on the Primes, because you know we kinda touch on them in Transformers One and brand synergy's always a marketplace winner, and it's also going to reference some lore that we set down in the Aligned project that we abandoned about a decade ago and young kids are going to love this stuff that they're not aware of and which isn't supported by any tie-in media or anythi- Hey! Takara! Are you listening to a word we're saying?!
Takara, looking up from the notepad they were doodling on: Hmm? Oh, yeah. For sure. 100%. Yeah, you do that.

I'm not sure we've come to a definite conclusion with the translation from the Japanese yet. I'm seeing different things in different places at different times. Either makes some sense. Jaymz your Japanese is better than mine, on the grounds you can actually understand some of it and I can't, which does it look like to you?

Jaymz your Japanese is better than mine, on the grounds you can actually understand some of it and I can't, which does it look like to you? Wild King makes more sense as a translation. The katakana reads as "wairudo kingu" but a literal reading isn't really accurate, especially to English speakers like us. I'm definitely not seeing a "c" and there's a character indicating a pause between the "do" and "ki" characters, so no, wildocking is not correct.

I'm wondering if this is what will be adapted into the new Cyberwold toyline? I'm sure a buffalo Megatron or something was listed.

Maybe the intention is to play off "King of the Beasts?" Or possibly the phrase "King of the Wild" which I have heard used on and off. Pleased to see that apart from Optimus and Megatron these all look to be new folks that they are going to combine with. I can see me being tempted to pick up either Optimus or Megatron and a herd of animal friends to combine with them. The fact that Tomy have unveiled a "machine combines with animal" toy range in the same week as I have started watching Bakuryu Sentai Abaranger(*) makes this feel a bit like fate has taken a hand in this one. :-) (* - Abaranger's monsters of the week are Trinoids, and each one is created from a fusion of an animal, a machine and a plant. Like the first one which is a Lion, crossed with a Dandelion, and a missile launcher - creating a monster with six lion-shaped eyes, and a mane/ruff of radio-controlled missiles it can shoot out which surrounds its head like the petals of a sunflower... C'mon Tomy, got the extra mile and give us a tree that can become Convoy's other arm or something :-) ) Karl
