My first encounter with Steeljaw was via Transformers Universe 4 in December 86 and I thought he looked *AMAZING*
The toy was a disappointment when I got my hands on one in 1992.
It has grown on me since.
This is the best version of the mane, giving it some volume.
Incredibly this appears to be only the third Steeljaw after the original and FOC versionjs

It's quite clever how the head works. Guns could be bigger and connected to the wings. 2nd tape spool desperately needs a paint app. I seem to remember everyone hating MP Ravage when he head worked the same way. |

Steeljaw to me feels like Blaster's iconic tape buddy (not that he was strongly connected to any of them). It's amazing he almost never turns up... Even when he has a new mold, made just for him! I also don't think this is particularly bad. My complaint is lack of paint. |

Yeah, same, the lack of paint is the biggest problem here. He's actually kind of cute!
Does look a bit like a cat who got their head stuck in a box though

They seem to shelfwarm terribly over here. SS86 Spike is currently down to something like €4,99 in my local Müller, along with some movie (? the Ravage that turns into a box is one) figures. They still had some Kingdom ones in battered boxes until fairly recently.

According to the review you have to shave some plastic bits off him to get it to work. Also, it appears as a toy he's a bit shit.

The reviews on TFW suggest that he does fit but it's not great, he needs to be a certain way round and the tape door may need some assistance opening.

It royally sucks that with the end of the core class pricepoint, it's highly unlikely we'll get the rest of the tapes. I mean geeze, Blaster only has two. And one of them is gangmolded to him, and stupidly in translucent plastic.
