McCarthy writes like he's dead!

Yeah, dead awesome.
Awesome like giving Transformers season one characters big boy issues to deal with.
That kind of thing really gives me such a Sunboner.

Pilot episodes + season 1 = 16 episodes.
AHM = 13.
Imagine if the cartoon had had one plot stretched over all those episodes? No-one would still be ******* watching it 25 years later!

Hmmm, surely that story content should have been in AHM proper? There were 12 issues, after all. Yes. Yes it should. Hang about. Shouldn't at least Cyclonus be dead as the Expansion fell through?? Yes. Yes he should.

Ignore that preview and scroll down to the Paul Grist illustrated Doctor Who stuff. That should help ease the pain.

Wait, IDW Megatron wanted to remodel the Decepticons from vicious horrors into something nicer? This is the same Megs who is quite willing to throw out calm control and sense in Escalation & Devastation, and who the DECEPTICONS have to restrain? The same Decepticons who were committing lots of pointless brutality in their early days?
And wasn't Rumble killed?
And what, the European Union ALONE is the "remaining forces" attacking NYC? Why? Where's Russia, for example? And why are they using Eurofighters instead of just using Dassault Mirage's to bomb from high altitude, since that's why they're there? And why from the fucking air, and not nuclear subs since the 'Cons have no Seacons present?
Admittedly the two page splash of Devastator fighting Eurofighters is cool, but JESUS WEPT.

And why from the fucking air, and not nuclear subs since the 'Cons have no Seacons present? Or China. Or the rest of the US military that weren't in the US - like the entire carrier battlegroup that would be stationed in Japan for example. As to why the lower than low-level attack, earlier of issues of AHM suggested that they weren't interested in depicting anybody's military as having much in the way of tactical aptitude so I'd call it par for the course. I'm not sure I'd agree on it looking cool. I do find it funny, in all the wrong ways though. Karl

Come now, eleven issues in and you've still not learned to not question the logic of the story?
Be more like the fans of AHM, as described in IDW's press releases: if you're not used to natural daylight then you'll love AHM's bright colours and larger than life robots. Wheee! Ooohhh! Ahhhh!

Getting bored of the AHM bashing now. It's too easy, like picking on a small child. Leave it alone, hmm?

One defence I saw was that the Decepticons are blocking guided missiles and would engage bombers earlier. Assuming you can't turn off the guidance systems on nuclear missiles, just nuke the areas around NYC and let the EMP, shockwave, and fallout flatten the place.

It's only bashing if its unfair! Unfortunately AHM has from a creative POV bought it upon itself.

AHM is a waste of artistic talent.
Plot wise it's like a long drawn out Sunbow episode on crack.

It's also about as painful to read as a letter from your bank telling you that they have charged you for their Christmas party!

So true. I think the threads about AHM are more entertaining than the comic itself.

I highly recommend AHM #11 if you are a fan of art books featuring giant robots fighting one another. I've mentally rebranded it as Dreamwave G1 Vol 1 #4 or #5 (whatever issue followed Devestator's silent scream) and find myself more satisfied with it as a result. Minimal dialogue, but one or two plot point are concluded and there's a nice twist on the final page.

Colouring looked a bit flat on some of the pages, though. But yeah, did remind me of DW's first mini-series.

The dialogue about 'bloo bloo the humans aren't worth saving' is pretty much lifted from it too

If the phrase "bloo bloo" is actually in the issue I shall buy it!
