Some friends of mine are moving to the Isle of Wight, so the weekend was mainly spent consuming large quantities of beer in sunny Cheltenham Spa. And not getting much sleep.

My work schedule for weeks 8-10 makes me want to go running screaming into the hills. On the positive side, this means Easter will be on me before I know it.

I am home early because the university network is down and if I did make progress on my project I'd have some difficulty saving it, not to mention the difficulty in finding a computer that will let me log on (there's a buffer that remembers the last few users, though I'd still be unable to access my drive allocation and results).
It's noon, and the freezing fog hasn't lifted. Wha?

I'm in work and doing not a lot, apart from buying stuff off eBay that I want, but really shouldn't be buying.
Although on the bright side, I got an original Whirl with all stickers and accessories for £23 and a boxed Sixshot reissue for £31, so I'm happy enough!

I may be doing some more Crazee Go-Nuts again soon and this time it may be involving a Zombie walk through the streets of Keynsham.

I just realised I have been wearing my pants inside out all day. -Ralph I realised the other day that I hadn't been wearing pants at all. Not really. That reissue Sixshot sounds good DS. I'm fairly spiffy. Even though I've another (mild) dose of Space lurgy! You escape it for ages then it gives you a double whammy in 3 weeks! Darn Space Lurgy. Piglet a bit sniffly, but it ain't keepin' her down. Had a lovely coupla days looking after the Short Fat One, and completed my DIY painting! Hurrah! Had a few ales last Friday with a chumb of mine. Tell how much you've changed when you and your mate just talk about their respective babies all night! Also, Armada Thundercracker and BT Alert arrived off the splendid Nicolas. I now have my first set of all 3 original Seekers in Armada, they look great together. TC joined the Starscream I got Phil, and Skywarp that I'd had since he first came out. Aiming to complete Classics, G1, MP and Titanium. Although obvious probs exist with the last two lines. Do all 3 exist in world's Smallest? Anywho, yet another Shockprowl Obsession progressing nicely! Yeeehaaaa! Oh, due to my watching/enjoying of Firefly, I've notice my typing/speach is becomming more and more 'Deep South'. Hence the Yeeehaaaas, and use of 'ain't'. I appologise in advance.

After several hours screaming in the library (transcribing licks donkey balls), I was not best pleased to return home to find out the letting agency are doing a surprise inspection on Monday (when I'm out), which is the last thing in the world I've got time for. Last time they pulled that stunt, they had a right go at me even though the place was as clean as I could make it. Wankers.

Tonight we took mum out to dinner. As is our custom we went to the local Chinese. And ordered the crispy chilli beef.
I must have got a mutant death chilli in my portion, it was sooooo hot ! And I eat this dish regularly. Manager and staff were wetting themselves in a coner, but got me the water when i needed it.

I had a Morereasons microwave Madras when I got home from work yesterday. And that nearly blew my bollocks off! And it's only a ready meal!

Loooooooooooong week. Went out with some Uni folk for a bit after classes. Rather tragically I could not allow myself a pint as I need to get up early to start work on an essay of doom. Sigh.

Make sure to arm yourself with the Ratchet Blaster.
My head is going to explode. Again. No nonsense going on, just the workload getting to me.

You can do it Doc'.
Busy night shift! First chance to post! Outrageous! Yesterday, the wind was so bad it broke Ratchet's back door. In the station log book I wrote- "Vehicle 135 taken off road. Rear door damaged by wind." How I laughed. I'm easily pleased.

I decided to chill out for a few hours between finishing my Children's Liturgy business and getting back to my project report, so I reinstalled Bioshock. That was a mistake. I've tried about 15 different wee fiddly programs, runtime library updates, compatibility modes and even a crack to disable online registration but the damn thing still says "application information is incorrect" when I try to run it. Several emails to tech support have yielded a few new ideas that also had no effect. I didn't realise that for my 30 quid I'd only get to play it once.

Gave up trying to write any of the current essay of doom. I do love how each one is more impossible than the one before. It's like fighting ever tougher video game bosses, but, er, real. Much other Uni stuff eating up chunks of my time which can wait until tomorrow. I'm bloody knackered.
Spruced the flat up so bastard letting agency can't have a go at me tomorrow when they do their 'we are going to inspect the place when you are out and no we don't need your permission' thing. Don't need hassle from that direction right now.
Took last night off and watched the utter, utter madness of Godzilla V Megalon, which has to be seen to be believed. Topped off with the first two eps of Blake's 7. I'd forgotten how much the early episodes were Proper Adult Drama (not having watched them in many a year) and far, far from the cheap campery that was to follow. If only if had stayed that way.

I was up til the early hours last night trying to sort out my sisters laptop. She's got a virus of some sort on it and, although it isn't destroying any files (at the moment at least) it does keep on sticking messages up on the screen saying that she's got a worm on her computer and to download so and so anti-virus program. Furthermore, she also has adware on the laptop which is also annoying both me and her somewhat - especially since the Norton 360 Internet Security suite she has on it is doing bugger all to rectify the problem.

Week 8 didn't wind up too badly all told. Spent the weekend booking myself an eye-test, reorganising some stuff in the loft (condensing the TF's into two boxes instead of three), and doing some pottering around in the kitchen (have plenty of stuff frozen down now so that I don't have to do too much in the way of cooking for a couple of weeks. Which is just as well considering I may need to hang back late a few evenings this week.
Having run around doing some of that it as nice to put my feet up with a couple of beers and a good film last night ("Patlabor: Mobile Police 2" - I'd forgotten how much I enjoyed the film, probably a result of Kazunori Ito's intelligent script.)
Not a bad way to wind-up an ok week really

I had no idea there was such a thing as a 'bunion patch'. After hobbling around in pain for the last few days, I popped into Boots where I discovered this miraculous device. Hurrah for progress.

Topped off with the first two eps of Blake's 7. I'd forgotten how much the early episodes were Proper Adult Drama -Ralph They're mint! I love the killer foam bit! NOOO! AAAARGH! Second night shift for Shockprowl. Hope a bit quieter than last night (drunk little boys and girls). Had a good sleep during the day. Some times tricky sleeping during the day between nights. One half of your brain is saying "SLEEP- YOU ARE EXHAUSTED!", but the other half is saying "BUT IT'S DAYLIGHT OUTSIDE! GET UP! WAKE UP!". Mad. When I got up Piglet and Mrs Shockprowl were visiting Grandma and Grandpa's, so I had cheese on toast and watch a bit of Casino Royale. God I LOVE this movie! And the theme music! On a troublesum note, a 'bit' fell off the underside of my car on the way home this AM. So gotta get that checked out sharpish me thinks! Ian.
