I stopped watching commercial TV about four years ago so this won't affect me but I'd be interested in thoughts: news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/entertainment/7525494.stmI've always had a low tolerance for adverts during programmes, but with access to broadband and DVD's becoming ever cheaper, I found my tolerance dropped to zero. As I had the alternative, I stopped watching channels other than the BBC ones. The only time I see telly-with-adverts is if it's on when visiting friends. Does anyone still watch films on commercial TV? Ads during a film pull me right out of the story whereas plenty of TV is specifically designed for ad breaks. -Ralph

Thanks to Sky Plus I havent watched commercials for ages. I tend to record almost everything and start watching 20 after its starts so I can fast forward through them all. If I am watching live TV I'll turn over to music channels or something.

I still watch commercial TV but during the ad breaks I tend to 'channel hop' through other channels. I only watch ITV1 for the Grand Prix and UKTV Gold for the odd comedy programme. Other than that I generally only watch music channels. Adverts used to be fun to watch when I was younger but these days they are pretty much full of loan and bank adverts ... oh, and price comparison website ads (and we wonder why this country is facing a recession).
