The UK fanbase would like to be near the bar as often as possible, but can't get there for the Scots!

The Scots contingent have finely honed bar-skillz.

My ticket is booked now so, all being well, I'll be there.

I thought I would order a student ticket while I was a student.
I still have no idea if I'll make it to AA, as I will almost certainly be unemployed at that time, but at least I've only lost £8 if that's the case.

You will be there. Think positively.

It's not about thinking positively. It comes down to cold hard practicalities.

In that case, think practically.

You'll make it, Ralph. Even if I have to sneak you down in my suitcase.

I have to admit that I am in a similar boat to Ralph at the moment. I've got to be spending a couple of hundred quid on a new oven in the next few weeks, there are one or two other things around the house that are going to need money spent on them this year, and I am hoping to get down to Wales for a little holiday later in the year. Whether the budget will stretch to a trip to Auto Assembly on top of all that I am not entirely certain.

Do you have a specific date in mind for your Wales trip? If not, perhaps you could use Auto Assembly as a stopover and save on travel costs.

Do you have a specific date in mind for your Wales trip? Not yet, it is dependent on finances and stuff. I'm not sure how well that would work - it would still mean adding a couple of nights accommodation, subsistence costs and whatnot on. Not sure whether the budget is going to stretch that far all things considered. Karl

Well, I've just booked. Karl, if your funds are in doubt I'll have to buy another suitcase, and get down the gym so I'll be able to carry both of you by August.

Heh. Have no fear, it is actually a priority for me to go. Sad though it sounds, it's the closest I'll get to a holiday this summer. I shall do my best to put cash aside for travel/accomodation and of course tat. Gotta have a budget for picking up TF related crap. Wouldn't be the same otherwise.
Tis just that I will be unemployed and possibly still completing my last Uni related work. I may need to call upon the gods of ebay to assist! And now I've bought a damn ticket for AA, my Scottish stereotype side doesn't want me to have wasted money!

and I am hoping to get down to Wales for a little holiday later in the year. Well, you know that unless I'm out of town you don't have to pay for accommodation in Cardiff. Martin

The tat peddler in me is pleased to hear it. I handed in my MSc dissertation a week before the deadline in order that I could leave uni in time for Transforce 2001.

Ah, 2nd August.
I don't go to TF conventions these days, but was thinking of coming up for the weekend to meet people for drinks outside the con.
But I'll be in the Lake District with my folks that week, so scratch that. I'll have to catch up with you guys some other time.
