Well, since I haven't spent any money on Animated toys this years, I felt entirely justified buying myself some Encores and whatnot today.
So I got; Encore Omega Supreme Encore Sky Lynx Encore Mini Autobots Set Encore Jazz Commemorative Bluestreak Binaltech Asterisk Sunstreaker Henkei Optimus Prime WST Swoop WST Sludge
Also; A set of scripts and Devastation TPB from Simon Furman and an original sketch of Grimlock by Stewart Johnson.

I did very well this year in that I didn't buy as I usually do! My haul was:
Binaltech Arcee Encore Ratchet Cybertron Crosswise
Also picked up the Killing Joke cover of AHM A Bumblebee/Spiderman keyring
Won the TF Movie novel and a Hulk DVD
Got Dan Bumblebeeman to sign my S2 DVD set, a pic of BB as well as the postcard & poster of my drawn BB for the Hub that Graham had brought along.
Dudey stuff! and I really enjoyed the day. Will post my pics soon!

For the toys I got G1 Inferno and Prowl off Jon, G1 ghost Thrust, Dirge and Ramjet off another stall (£20 for all three which works out as £6.66 each) and Kiss Players Convoy off yet another stall.
As for comic books I picked up several IDW comics including Spotlights Grimlock, Arcee, Wheelie and Cyclonus (all signed by Geoff Senior even though he had no part in the issues), Beast Wars The Ascending TPB signed by Simon Furman and ashamedly Dreamwave's G1 complete series 1 & 2 as well as a Botcon Beast Wars comic called Reaching the Omega Point.
Autograph wise I got a signed picture of Dan 'Mr Bumblebee' Gilvezan, an original sketch of Soundwave drawn and signed by Staz Johnson and a copy of the Cybertronian Times signed by all of the guests.
Finally onto the trinkets. All I got was three keyrings of the postcards that we were given in our welcome pack.
All in all it was a fantastic day.

I've just opened the three ghost Decepticon Jets but am not all that happy with them. They are minature versions of the three jets (well, I didn't expect the full size ones for the price I paid for them) but what I didn't like about them was that the shoulder joints are loose on all three of them. I looked on the boxes and noticed that they weren't made by Hasbro but rather a firm called Kingtoys. Maybe someone can tell me if this is a knock-off toy company or an official one recognised by Hasbro.

My AA goodie-bag had the rather nice postcards, some stickers, Armada UK #3 and I won a Hulk 90's cartoon DVD.
I spent far too much and went somewhat over-budget! Beans-on-toast this month! My haul:
-Full set of Firecons -Micromaster Race Car Patrol -Micromaster Air Strike Patrol -Micromaster Powertrain -Crosshairs (now reunited with Pinpointer) -Flywheels (complete, with gun and instruction booklet) -Action Master Axer robot -Encore Ratchet MISB (to be opened) -Encore Ironhide MISB (to be opened) -MISB G2 Windrazor (who will be freed from card soon) -Ehobby New Year Tapestry (the frieze which has headshots of all the G1/G2 boxart) -Cybertronian Times #9 -AA Decepticon/Predacon pin badge -AA Prime, Bumblebee and Animated Jazz key chains -Signed Geoff Senior print of the opening splash page from Titan TF-UK #1 -Signed Furman Scripts for Marvel US #80, Titan TF-UK #1 and Twilight's Last Gleaming Parts 1,2 and 4 with signed Titan UK #12 -Original signed Wildman art for the Blitzwing cover for Infiltration #4 with a signed copy of the comic -And best of all, a personally signed sketch of Powermaster Optimus Prime from Staz that he did for me at a reasonable price. Top bloke.

I spent all my money on sketches.
Staz was really great. I got a fantastic sketch of Bludgeon from him, which is my favourite from yesterday. John McCrea did me a really nice Animated Prime (that's the second time John's sketched a TF for me, and for the second time he was a real pleasure to talk to: in his words it's good to 'talk shit at these things'. It was great fun talking to him, Geoff Senior, Martin Griffiths - Senior and Griffiths spent the whole time taking the piss out of each other - and Lee Beazley because they were all happy to talk nonsense), Beazley spent ages on a full body shot of Megs, Simon Williams did a lovely Springer (the money going to charity) mostly from memory (and never having drawn him before), I bought one of Senior’s pre-drawn Death's Head sketches, and finally, Griffiths, gent that he is, did me a sketch of Prime, gratis.
I'll have to get around to posting pictures.
Also got fanzines (cheers Andy for the comp!), some other signatures, a couple o junkers and goody bag stuff.
I'm just a bit sad that I had to restrain myself from buying some of Staz's Cry Wolf art, which I loved and an Omega. Maybe another year.

I think next year I'll have to get a few more sketches. I mainly concentrated my efforts on buying toys this year but I realised that toys can be brought out of the shops or off the net but sketches that are drawn and signed to you in front of your own eyes can't be brought anywhere else and are therefore more of a fitting reminder of a fantastic day.

Who is the little white bloke on the left of Sunstreaker (as we are looking at it)? From what I can see of him he looks like one of the Banpresto Valkyries, except that the head isn't quite the right shape and it is missing the black visor.

Dunno. Found it and the dinky Whirl on Spacebridge's junk table. Thought I'd pass them on to you actually, given your love of all things Macross and suchlike.

(You know, I completely failed to notice the Overlon Gazette standing there to the left. very unobservant of me). Karl (Edit, the more I look at the white fella the more like one of the Banpresto toys he seems - he is certainly in the right ball-park height-wise.)

I've seen dinky Whirls and Roadbuisters retailing over here many (15+) years in the past Yep - I think Takatoku licensed them in Europe (not long before they got out of the toy business) in the early eighties. (Certainly the Caliber and the Gazette, not as certain about the rest of the Dorvack toys although I do hear rumor that the rest may have been released). Karl

After a great day seeing you all and possibly making a prat of myself at times - I tend to get a little over excited - I was generally happy with a large haul - with some sour notes all directed at Spacebridge (you warned me Ralph, but would I listen...) He seems a nice guy as well - and he may well be but after AA I am not sure
On overexcited point, I am sorry for warning Dan about the potential hug potential of our resident Bumblebee fan...too much caffeine at the time
Will try and get some pics up as took them before opened boxes
First thing I got was the Hubzines natch - some great stuff there guys - as always - thing was a number of floaters in my eye decided to move on Sat night making it harder to read - any chance of an electronic version at some point please?
Anyways - the list Robot War Latest AA mag Signed Furman script for end of the road (got him to sign Grimlock and Shocky spotlight as well - he is a nice bloke) Signed Titanium Bumble by the man himself US Edition anime style Masterpiece Starscream Revoltech Starscream (damn that Xyber toys guy does zone on me - dragged me over to stall as soon as I was in tractor beam distance - does he do this to others?) Hyper Hobby clear movie Bumblebee - free with the two above
And thats the bulk of the good stuff bought with cash Now to the bitter sweetness of Spacebridge I will add I now know why there is a no returns policy on his stall He may be innocent on all this issues to come but it did make me harrumph a little at the end of day Anyway - during his brief Leicester Market style shouty saleathon I nabbed three posters for 2 quid each I asked for an IDW Screamer a Dinobots pic and a boarded Predaking litho - when I got home I found I had a Soundwave (not bad) and Armada (no thanks) and the non-boarded Predaking litho OK - for price no worries, but still an annoyance - it was hetic at time but still left some bitterness At time I was elated as he also GAVE me a hard heroes Prowl bust - I like them so sue me However, when got home found that one of the doors had broken off - it was a freebie so no pain and now trying to repair but again, makes me realize why it was a freebie now
Anyway, I also brought a slightly used G! megs with box I was trying to shift on ebay but was pulled down for reasons previously stated elsewhere on Hub. T4E had said may make me an offer - bless his heart - he was SOOOO busy ail day and felt bad even looking at him to see if he was busy. In the end he thought it was a reissue I was offering so was not interested but pointed me to Spacebridge Now, on ebay I started the item at 20 and was hoping for something like 50 - ambitious? anyway - I got 30 store credit. I took it knowing there would be a make up on the item - thats business - and also because to be hones just needed to get shot of it With the extra 'cash' and due to lateness in day my options were a little limited Wanting to get as much bits for my buck, I got A convoy PVC set with him in Robot and vehicle mode A move Barricade remote control thingiy A superlink prime model kit - quite nice - sold to me as like a Transformers kinder and not far off - little PR style vehicles are quite good And movie bumblebee/prime twin pack
Thats it Ramble over

Im very happy with my haul, mostly cheaply purchased comics from my want list. The highlight is issue 302's cover (according to Ralph) Probably my favourite cover art from the entire run barring maybe Collected Comics 3. Jazz sketch by Staz. Escalation, Devastation, BW Sourcebooks 1-4, 3 Spotlights all for £16, Collected comics 5, 6, 7, 9 and 14 plus TF Movie issues 1 for £10, thanks Nigel. Hubris, Cybertronian Times, Ironfist and junker Deftwing from Space bridge £5 and £1 respectively. I too was a bit annoyed with my purchase from him. Ironfist was in a bag and said figure only, but gave the impression it was intact but when I got it home it was missing the lightpiping from the head. Movie TC £7.50, Activators SS and the BB laser won from the Hasbro raffle goods. The next morning I went along to the local carboot and rounded off the weekend with this lot. The whole lot cost £3.50. A whooping 50p of it on Omegatron. The tank turret/head and the battery case is a little busted up but otherwise its just missing the rocket hand and one clip from the leg. I didn't go too mad - didn't go in with any real goals in mind, except that I thought it would be nice to find a Beast Machines Cycle Drone, since the last time I was at a UK TF con, I got a Beast Machines Tank Drone. But once I got in there, I started remembering a bunch of things I'd been looking for online recently, and snagged a good few of 'em! The weekend got off to a good start when I found Voyager Animated Prime in Toymaster before getting on the plane, and at the con itself, I got: BM Cycle Drone (woo!) Energon Roadblock Cybertron Defense Scattershot Powerhug Autocrasher Trans-Scanning Optimus Prime Trans-Scanning Bumblebee "Killing Joke" All Hail Megatron cover Set of G2/G.I. Joe crossover issues I also won the Robot Replicas Jazz figure in the raffle!

I went with the aim of getting some Cybertron toys, having missed most of them at retail, and I wasn't disappointed. I got Override GTS, Ransack GTS, Shortround, Crosswise, yellow Scrapmetal and Galaxy Force Metroplex.
I was also hoping to get some missing IDW comics and covers and I got those in spades thanks to the £1 box that Simon Furman had. I got over 30 comics - mostly incentives - for £30. I also got the Apocalypse Comics exclusive covers and a couple of incentives that they were selling.
Then there were Max B, Flash Lioconvoy, AA keyrings, Movie slide puzzle, Movie projector carabiner, Hub 'zine and a Hulk DVD, plus the Ian Corlett signed photo in the raffle.
I didn't get any sketches or autographs this year. In fact, apart from a brief conversation with Furman, I didn't even get chance to speak to any of the guests. (At least getting the signed photo in the raffle made up for not getting Dan Glivezan's.)
Edit: oops, I forgot to mention my purple Galvatron and Hyper Hobby clear EZ Bumblebee.

Furman's box of comics was a treasure in itself. Six comics for £5 is a great bargain and in it I found a few retailer incentive issues (which aren't all that hard to come by but still hold some kind of novelty value nontheless) and also a copy of the Infiltration Cover Gallary which I had been looking everywhere for.

That Infiltration cover gallery is quite neat. Another cover gallery was done a year later but sadly there seem to be no more coming out.

I've had the Cover Gallery Volume 2 for quite a while now but it was the Infiltration Cover Gallery that had eluded me for so long. I now have it and its got Geoff Senior's autograph in it as well even though he had nothing to do with the illustrations within.
