Tesco have halved the price on some of the movie toys. Eg Robot Replicas which say down to £4.87 will scan thru at half that! I picked up mine at £2.43 each!! Movie Thundercracker scanned thru at £4.99 while the movie legends (some of them) scanned at just 74p!!!! What it is with the legends, they will normall scan at £2.97..... then when they had then reduced to £2.22 or £1.47, they placed a barcode sticker over the original barcode on packet. If a sticker is over the original barcode then it will be just 74p!!! Oh yeah I also got Final Stand movie scene at £4.99.

If anyone spots anywhere that puts Universe Blaster on discount, please let me know!
A1 Comics have the 3 inch non-transforming Titanium Galvatron's marked down to a pound.

Animated Voyager Bulkhead is £10 at play. They do seem a little overstocked everywhere I go...

Two per case in wave one, plus also appearing in wave two, if I remember correctly. This at the same time as the Leader version being available in the shops.

Yikes! No wonder sales at Toys'r'us have been sluggish.

Bollocks, ordered Bulkhead the day before he came down to £7.99!
Ralph, Play have Blaster at £17.99. Not exactly a huge discount, but it's free delivery too.
Any idea what the Ultra Magnus price point will be?

That's what I assumed Phil, but from the sheer size of him I was thinking he might possibly be even bigger.

Animated Blitzwing is down to £12.99 on Play as well. Think that's going to have to be picked up.
EDIT: And my local Toytown has Cybertron Wing Saber and Sky Shadow down to £14.99 each, plenty of them there. Bought Wing Saber and he's one of the most gorgeous toys I've bought in a long time. Great toy.

Wow.
Animated really seems to be getting loads of discount promos! Shame about poor Universe: those £13 deluxes seem even more expensive now.

I suspect there are several factors at play in the discounting of Animated:
Animated doesn't seem to be as popular with children as the movie line. The big companies' buyers probably placed orders based on sales of movie toys. Poorly made up assortments. (In particular, causing a glut of Bulkheads.)

I'm not seeing Animated doing that badly though, especially at dlx size, and all the wave 3 Voyagers seem to seel quickly enough.

I'm not saying that Animated is doing badly, it just doesn't appear to be as popular as the movie line from what I've seen. Wave 3 Voyagers are selling well, I agree, but those I've sold seem to be selling to collectors rather than children/parents (the key market). My own sales of Voyager 1 - and the DVD pack - have been a lot slower than the movie line. Perhaps Nick can give some of his observations of Toys R Us sales. I can't comment on Deluxe, because I haven't had any in stock yet.

Tesco round my way doesn't seem to have the Voyagers at a tenner, they are still at £19.95. They don't seem to be selling terribly well at the moment though.
Not compared to the Deluxes, where demand doesn't seem to be keeping up with supply. Both Tesco and Asda have managed to sell their full stock in a week, and they seem to be at the end of a very long supply chain to get any more. The Activators, now that they have finally snuck back into Falkirk, seem to be decent sellers as well - although it is hard to tell as only Woolies carries them (they seem to have opted for them instead of Deluxes at the moment). The larger toys don't seem to be huge sellers, but that was much the same for the movie toys - the basics and deluxes sold really well there, but the voyagers and leaders didn't really do all that much.

Animated is doing fine in Toys'r'us -at least in my branch- although it's worth remembering that we still have a lot of movie and Universe stuff that is also doing pretty well. The movie line (and movie packaged toys like Inferno/Mudflap and Jetstorm/Wingblade) is still a consistent seller.
Sales aren't as strong as, say, Ben 10 which is phenomenally successful and mostly quite cheap (the most expensive thing in the line is a 10 figure giftset for 30 quid) or Fantastic Four which is all heavily reduced. In fact, given that TF is one of the most expensive lines we carry I think it does very well in the current economic climate. The most popular Animated figures are the Activators, and it's just a shame that we've only ever had the three characters and we only get one case of 12 in every week or so.
Deluxe-wise the line has done very well, and I'm relieved to see that Ratchet/Bumblebee 2-pack even if it is ludicrously priced since they're both such main characters. If we can get a Prowl/Lockdown pack (or even a Voyager Prime/Prowl pack like the Bumblebee/Prime pack in Argos last year) as well down the line all the better. However, Oil Slick looks to be becoming the FAB Frenzy (i.e. pegwarmer) of the deluxe assortment. Being the fourth and only non-show character in the assortment during a 3 for 2 sale didn't help him, right enough.

Picked up Lugnut and Blitzwing for £10 each in Tesco. Half price Animated Voyager and Deluxes, but they were all out of deluxes.
All these Animated promos are great, I've got most of the line through various deals and discounts. Let's hope it continues, I want a cheap Ultra Magnus!

Sod that. How are independent retailers like me supposed to make a living if big retailers keep selling them well under cost? Incidentally, when I was speaking to one of my suppliers at Toy Fair - not a Transformers supplier, but another company that manufactures and distributes its own products - he said that they don't like Tesco and Play exactly for this reason; even though those retailers buy the product from them, they undercut all the supplier's other customers. Edit: That said, thanks for the heads up. I just got a Blackarachnia (and just placed an order at Play). I may be annoyed that they're selling them so cheaply, but not so much that I won't take advantage of the prices myself! The first Tesco I checked had no Transformers, but the Extra had Voyager wave 2 and the sole Deluxe was my Blackarachnia, keeping a Robot Replicas Jazz company. Also, the DVD pack, which doesn't appear to be on promo.

Sod that. How are independent retailers like me supposed to make a living if big retailers keep selling them well under cost? It doesn't seem to be everywhere though - Tesco near me still has the Voyager's at full price as of yesterday afternoon. Mind you, given that they had difficulty selling the movie Voyagers until they came down to a tenner, and even then the Rescue Ratchets weren't in any hurry to shift, so I can almost understand their thinking. I toured Belfast yesterday hitting every Tesco within range, and all I found was "Sorry! This item is sold out".
Probably to kids.
Toys are fucking wasted on kids!!
