Richard Burton expounds straight-faced the most preposterous espionage plot ever conceived while Clint Eastwood machine-guns and blows up Nazis as coolly as if he was doing the shopping at Sainsbury's in this gorgeous Alpine war epic with most triumphant soundtrack.
Tonight 6.05 pm Channel 5, or switch on for the final hour to experience maximum explosions and bewildering plot exposition.

It is a most superb film. The plot approaches absurdist in its complexity at times, but it gets away with it because it is all played with such conviction
Makes me wish I could get Five, I would definitely make the effort to see it once again.

I have completely lost my tolerance to watch films with advert breaks, but I do now have the urge to watch this film again.
