With the reduction of MP Prime in TRU to £34.99, I want to finally buy him. But I hate those short smokestacks. I recall seeing long smokestacks floating about a while back on ebay, that you fitted yourself. Can't finds them now though, does anyone know where I could get a pair?
And it that the only difference between the Takara and Hasbro versions?

No.
The other differences are:
Hasbro version is floppy; joints are floppy, foot falls off.
Hasbro version has dabs of yellow paint where there should be silver paint.
Hasbro version has ugly blue gun
Hasbro version hates steals candy from babeis
Hasbro version is actually Pat Lee in disguise.
Stay clear of this abomination and hunt for or pray for an MP-01 or, if you're brave, take an 04.

My Japanese version is starting to get loose hips, and he creaks loudly a lot, too.

So you'd recommend not going near him then Pete?
Any other nay-sayers?

Anyone else remember if the Japanese version has the Megatron gun and Energon axe ?

He does indeed come with the mini-Megatron and axe.
Incidentally, MP Ultra Magnus comes with a black gun (which, IMO, suits MP OP better) a black/brown Megatron and a blue energy axe.

Blast. Can't find mine. I suppose they might be with the box in Mum's loft.

I would; but then I'm also fairly pro-Takara/Anti-Hasbro on most TF issues...

I was considering getting an MP Prime at some point after I watched a video of somebody transforming it on Youtube. The video had me sold and maybe I'll go scouting for one before the years out.

I've had a hunt and no joy. A link suggested BWTF may have had it but the site is currently down.
