I gave it a go as I was mildy intrigued. Not picked up a Joe comic in years.
Even for a dollar, I feel ripped off.
What we have are three seemingly random teaser strips. One of which ends with 'to be continued February 2009', another says...'to be continued March 2009'. I think the other one starts January 2009 IIRC. Three overlapping minis? Which one am I supposed to read first?
Um.
Um.
No....what???
Someone please explain the logic of launching a comic series in which the reader is expected to remember to come back for the next instalment...up to 6 months later? I just don't get it.
Sorry, IDW, you've lost a reader here. One would have thought they had learnded their lesson after their slow start on Transformers.

Sounds like a waste of paper. Damn and I was looking forward to some new Joe stuff.

Hmm, doesn't sound so great. A #0 trying to launch three different mini-series at once, not exactly calculated to be able to be maximally successful at the task.
From the description I think I will be skipping it to be honest . A shame, I was halfway to being interested in what the new Joe series was going to be like.

Looking forward to the reprints of the Marvel series though. I have a certain soft spot for the earlier issues in that run.

Similar to how they started Transformers with a teaser #0 in October and then the main series starting in January, but the 3 separate series' idea is a little silly.
One series focuses on GI Joe, another on Cobra and the 3rd is an origins series about GI Joe's early days.
Then there'll probably be a movie tie-in series and a crappy reprint series later in the year.
They say you don't need to read all 3 series' to get the whole story, but you probably do, and at the inevitable $4 an issue, it's not going to be worth it. I'll just read them during lunch break.

Read the zero issue and it was entertaining enough but setting up three minis annoyed the hell out of me.
