Well I'm at the computer about to embark on a Daily Longtooth having slept for the better part of fourteen hours after a strenuous weekend.
This week I have some running to do and a visit to the Burns Mansion in order to assist in the packing up of things.

You mean planting a Longtooth in one of his boxes when he isn't looking!

Dreadful start to the week.
I find I'm hitting things and shouting a lot these days.

That's another job app sent away. Now to wrestle with a printer. There may be swearing.

I'm trying not to smash everything around me thanks to seemingly nothing going right, right now. My day also included a printer. Why does a printer refuse to print a letter containing nothing but black print because two of the five colours were empty.

Why does a printer refuse to print a letter containing nothing but black print because two of the five colours were empty. Some of them do it because they actually use some of each of the colour inks when they print black. So if one or more of the cartridge are empty then it will not print. There seems to be a lot of bad day going around today. I left the house at just before seven-thirty on what is normally a fifty minute journey to work. I arrived at ten past nine after spending most of that time crammed onto a train in such tight quarters that not only could I not move, I couldn't even turn around properly to get off the train on arrival - I had to walk off the train sideways. Not down to strike action this time, but instead to engineering works that are due to continue all week as the do something on another route which by some complicated process makes my usual line to work partly impassable. Such fun it was. Fortunately I had my music with me - as I couldn't have got to my new book, let alone read it - and I reached the office with a part of my sanity intact. Then I discovered that our receptionist has been signed off for two weeks - meaning that I will be spending half the day on our reception desk and switchboard as well as trying to do my usual job...... And to think I thought that the day couldn't get any worse once I got to work. Silly Karl. Ah well. Chalk it up to experience and start afresh tomorrow. Karl

And now I cant make a hole in my polygon. It makes no sense it's easy in any other polygon but not the one Ive been extruding into shape. I want to cry or smash something again.
Thankfully Gilmore girls season 3 is keeping me sane.

I assume that being unable to make a hole in your polygon isn't quite what I am picturing.

I'm doing jury service this week and the case is ok I suppose, but the other jurors are sooooooooooo boring they don't talk. Some of them seem afraid when I start talking to them, I'm sure I am not that intimidating, so I gave up and read my book.
Still i'm getting rid of my crutches this week + going back to work once this jury thing ends, going to draw some more me thinks.

No joy at the graduate recruitment fair, which was to be expected really but can't help feeling deflated.
Some fine free tat though. I got a slinky! And a frisbee.
Some very worrying family issues are escalting.
Ah, stress and worry.

I did jury duty once. Drugs case with tough-looking guy allegedly keeping the stuff in his garden so that he could claim it had been thrown over the fence if found in a search, and with vicious dogs to keep people out. Or so it was alleged.
Day two - learnt that the poor guy had had a brain haemorrhage and was now in hospital. Worse than any punishment he could have got from us. Case dismissed (as far as we were concerned).
Had a very good but completely exhausting two days at work this week. Taking things slower the rest of the week.
Hope everyone's situation improves.

I was also at said graduate fair along with Ralph and one of my classmates who was sadly consumed by the crowd and never seen again. I had a slightly more helpful experience since there were a lot of folks looking for chemists and I got a lot of useful contacts along with about 30 pens and two carrier bags bulging with random corporate crap from bottle openers to boomerangs. If anyone needs a stress ball give me a shout- I have a selection of sizes, shapes and colours.

I'll tell you what's nice. Popping into a place for a sandwich and being treated pleasantly and courteously rather than just bog-standard customer #98 or whatever of the day. Makes one feel like a proper human being again for a few minutes.

most sandwich bars tend to be nice, I had this really long conversation about tomatoes with the guy there......man i'm such a sad person. Guy and Madonna are getting divorced according to their friends lol how nice of them to divulge stuff like that to the media. Slowly getting my UCAS form done, if uni fails then i'm joining the armed forces i'm pretty sure of that! aaaaaaaaaaand Brian Blessed is on the Paul O'Grady show tomorrow!

This is a week that just doesn't seem to let up. Between one thing and another I seem to be having a particularly manic time at work at the moment. I'm glad that I am getting a lift into and out of work with my boss this week though - when I came home by train on Tuesday I clocked that because of the diversions and whatnot the journey by train was taking slightly over twice the normal length of time and there are less than half the normal numbers of trains on the route into the bargain.... not a good combination.
Fortunately I have the Hub and episodes of "Battle of the Planets" to keep my spirits up. There's nothing like coming home and sitting down to dinner and wondering what demented mecha the alien invaders from Planet Spectra are going to serve up to attack the Earth this evening.

Ungh. Something I ate or drank yesterday (or a combination thereof) is wreaking terrible havoc on my system. Been sick as a dog all morning. Some fabulous projectile vomiting. Yay.

I'm not feeling too dashing. I don't think it was the vodka as there was still a sizeable amount left in the bottle this morning.
I blame the vengaboys cd.

Don't think it was the vodka either. Very nauseus. Still can't face going out. Feels like a bit of food poisoning.
I do hope this has not been the final legacy of the Chapati 3.

I can't think what else it was. The only other suspects: Sainsbury's sausages, Doritos, dips for Doritos.
