I shouldn't have joked last week about doing something unpleasant when the clocks went back.
The last few days have seen me in a most horrid state with some kind of stomach bug, which, thanks to the clocks changing, I had an extra hour of on Sunday morning.
I think I'm over the worst now, but I did lose 5 pounds over three days.
The only unusual thing I ate was a mint Aero which I wouldn't have thought to cause a great problem. Unless I've developed a sudden allergy to chocolate.

I had Tequila when the clocks went back and suffered no ill effects.

Not the best way to lose weight, G. I'll send over some emergency sausages via the power of my mind.

I really didn't feel like I had an extra hour in bed Sunday morning. Woke up extra tired and it's been the same yesterday and today.

I got up at 8am Sunday morning only to realise that I hadn't put my clock back and so lost an hours sleep on a day I could have done with a lie-in.

I am usually quite disorientated by the change of clocks. But as I have no need to keep time these days, I haven't even noticed. Bit strange, that.

I've been fairly flaked out this week so far as well. Not ill fortunately - although I am one of the few in my team who haven't got the same cold as yet. I've just been well and truly zonked. Fortunately as I commute by train I can curl up in the seat and go back down for a doze for half an hour in the morning, which makes up for the bleary eyed staring at the clock when the alarm goes at half-six I guess.

Spent Saturday at Cosmeston Lakes (Feed the Birds Day, dontcha know), Sunday vegging after reading at church, Monday I went to a talk at lunchtime by someone from the Nigerian Environment Agency and in the evening to a public debate on presumed consent for organ donation at the Welsh Institute of Sport, yesterday I bought Iron Man on DVD, and today I'll be later than usual to work since I'm catching up with posts on the Hub. Tomorrow - who can say!
Hope Graham and Phil feel better soon.

I hated yesterday as iMovie was doing its best to annoy me, the weather was awful, I was caught in a some what unexplained traffic jam and I managed to add more cuts to my hands by catching a shelf unit.

Dash of the cold this week. Nothing major, but really annoying as the blood donation place are looking for folk all week and it would have been nice to have done something useful (they sensibly don't let you do it if you have a cold).

Been having problems with Zip today. He's been grumbling and growling and wont let either me or george come near him without getting nasty. I think Zip may have been in an altercation with the big cat over the fence again and got hurt. Something seems to be aggrivating the little guy but I cant get close to him to find out. Still eating his food though so I've given him some space and time for now.

When someone says they've got something to tell you but they don't want to do it over the phone... that can't be good can it?

Depends on who it is. If it's a girl/boyfriend, family member, doctor then I'd be worried.
But, generally, that sort of thing never bodes well.

Depends on who it is. If it's a girl/boyfriend, family member, doctor then I'd be worried. But, generally, that sort of thing never bodes well. It's a girl I went out with years ago at uni. Bumped into each other again this year and despite greeting me with "hello tosser" we got on remarkably well. We had a bit of a thing for a while but then it turned out she had a boyfriend she'd neglected to tell me about Still we've remained friends so that's good, but then suddenly she has something to tell me Since posting I talked to a friend about it and she said "she's probably pregnant". Eek! I then decided to call a mutual friend and this one had promised not to say anything but did say "Don't worry it's good news". That was a relief. Then this friend added "but you might not think it's good news". Double eek! Why do I get the impression I'll be reading about myself in 'Dear Deirdre' next week?

Unless you have a fling with your boss or are attracted to your killed-in-Iraq husband's commanding officer then I doubt you'd get to be in Dear Deirdre.
But still, I hope the good news/not good news isn't to harrowing.

Hello Emerald City! What's doing? What's happenin'?!
Hope all my cyber chumbs are ok. I've survived my first block at Uni on my Paramedic course. Sweet Jeepers it's though going! But really enjoying it. Passed the trauma section ok, which I'm happy 'bout 'cos I like a bit of trauma. Onto 2 days at Uni and 2 shifts per week. Pretty heavy going actually, but it's great to FINALLY be doing the big league stuff.
And- TA DA DA DA DA DA DAAAAAA!!!!!! I'm comming to you from our very own PC, located in our very own media room (attic convers), on our very own broadband! Oh it's the most wonderfull thing since Sex was invented! Don't ask me what type of 'Compute' as Piglet calls it, it is, I've no idea. Mrs shockprowl's incharge of all that. She's the brains, I'm the looks. Question: anyone ever had/heard of a persons phone line going all funny and fuzzy with noise on the line when broadband's been installed? Our did. Sorted now. But seems like a funny coincidence.
Piglet continues to ammuse. Said I'd buy her a cream cake in town the other day. She burst into the shop and shouted "Please can I have that bun in the window, Lady!". Least she was polite! Tell yas, it's scarry how quickly she learns stuff. Spounges they are, spounges.
I have a new 'thing'. I suppose it was inevitable after I got heavily back into Marvel a while ago. Marvel Legends. And the cheap buying thereof loose from nice people on Ebay. In the last month I've gone from 0 to, oh, 25. Mrs Shockprowl isn't happy. Oh boy. Oh boy oh boy...
Well. Back to the books! I love being a student! And dear Lord, the honnies... everywhere... NO!! NO MRS SHOCKPROWL I DIDN'T MEAN THAT! AAAAAARRRRRGGGHHHH!!!!!!

Question: anyone ever had/heard of a persons phone line going all funny and fuzzy with noise on the line when broadband's been installed? Our did. Sorted now. But seems like a funny coincidence. I haven't heard of it happening, but I have heard it happening - if you see what I mean. I had that problem for a while after I got broadband, took me a while of trying various things to sort it out - turned out it was a problem with my ADSL filter, I replaced it with a different one and the line has been as clear as a bell ever since. (Not that you will be around to read this Shockprowl, after your tragic demise...) Ralph, my commisserations on the job knockback. I for one can't wait for this week to be over - it has been long, hectic and extremely draining. I wouldn't be surprised if I was curled up in my bed with a good book extremely early tomorrow evening. Karl

Panic over. It's nothing bad. Saw her and she said she's getting married. Presumably to the other guy... I don't think she was proposing...

Gave blood this morning. It was great to actually do something useful rather than wallow in another day of no job. Usual high quality biscuits. Considering putting myself on the bone marrow donation list: it looks pretty worthwhile.
With recent events, my concentration has been pretty poor so I'm trying to force myself to read. I'm usually an avid reader but have struggled to read more than a paragraph of late, which has been rather upsetting and disconcerting. I'd like to start writing again so hopefully if I can get back into reading that will help.
