What do you do on Hallowe'en? Do you get anyone at the door begging for sweets? If so, what do you give them?

On some years I take part in the churches alternate halloween celebrations. It is pretty much the same thing with the fun element of dressing up and having a party but without the 'scare' factor or going out begging for sweets . Not sure if I am up for anything this year, I am worried about my cat at the moment and I hope he gets home safe. I did already wear my Casey Jones costume on two previous functions so I've already had some 'halloween' fun.

Yeah, I give the local children chocolate or loose change if they make an effort to dress up.
They don't bother me the rest of the year, and I like their cats.

We don't bother with trick or treat or any kind of Halloween celebration at our house. A few people knock on the door doing it though and if its a few innocent kids then we might consider giving them something but most of the time its teenagers who come around not making much of an effort to dress up and then throwing bags of flour at our door whether you give them something or not.

As my cold appears to have subsided, I have decided to celebrate Halloween by giving blood* in the morning. It seems appropriate.
In other news, I have already seen someone in the street dressed as the Joker. The urge to twat him was immense.

Oh man... I saw quite a few Jokers today, a couple of Crows and probably more Scream costumes than anything else.
ToT Kids this year were pleasant and said thankyou and had quite a few. Very polite too. I am inclined to give again next year.

Wolverine, Captain America and Spider-Man were on the underground train this evening. I felt compelled to mutter: "Avengers: Assemble!" under my breath.

I was tempted with a Thor costume but the only problem is that it's the top only, no funky leggings or boots.

I can see Karl as Hogun! -Ralph Hogun, the Grim.... Methinkest that such a thing would not be impossible for me. I didn't have anyone show up at the door this year at all. If they had in an unusual moment of compassion I might have actually given them chocolates. Ah well, I shall find a worthy cause for the chocolates to be consumed in. I didn't even see many costumes doing the rounds - there was one person working in Tesco dressed as a witch, and another bloke wandering around in a long blak cape - I think he was attempting Dracula but he looked more like a random cannon-fodder Sith to be honest. I might dress up as The Rat King next year. I just need loads of bandages, a tatty brown t-shirt and surgical tape. Oh and some rats, some soda pop grenades and maybe a flute too.

I was walking down my road this morning and noticed a few egg shells on the pavement hinting that last night the local trick or treaters were planning on throwing eggs at peoples doors like they do most years.

My local Co-Op store has a message on all of their tills saying that they will not sell flour and eggs to under 18's during Halloween and Bonfire Night unless they are accompinied by an adult. That is the level to which this time of year has dropped to in my area.

Don't judge creatures by their appearance. The cute chocolate snowman may still be an evil and sinister chocolate skeleton just waiting for the right time to reveal its true identity - like Longtooth!
