Three job apps transmitted off this morning.
Now for lunch, then a trip to the library to read up on the mad histories of Marvel comic characters.

Well, so Week 45 begins with a thud and not a whimper.
As Monday's go it was one I could do without. On top of realising that something that I was passing onto someone in one of my clearouts has wound up in the wrong pile and gone to the Shelter shop (with some luck I may still be able to recover it from them later in the week though), I managed to score a perfect takedown on myself with a box of files - the end of the box gave way whilst I was carrying it, the remainder of the box swung like a pendulum and swept out my left knee. The result was two loud thuds in quick succession as box and I went in separate directions to bounce off the floor. Then I managed to mangle my fingers in our server room door a half hour later. On top of all the other things going awry today (like my train not showing up for half an hour this morning, which isn't the half of it) I figure Monday is a bit of a write-off all told.
Hope everyone else's week is off to a better start.

Jumping on the scales last night confirmed what I felt and that I have been putting on the weight. Not a problem yet, but a re-appraisal of diet required so it doesn't become one.

Tried to get it loaded on internet to show people what I had done, but something bad happened, its lost its colour, still trying to figure out what i'd done. going back to work tomorrow, how utterly wet and weedy that place is

Piglet had an (obsessively guarded) go with a sparkler. I can't describe the look of half utter concentration, and half amazement as my hand guided hers in making slight circular motions etc. Ah.
She also greeted me this evening with "You got something for me, Daddy Dad Dad?"

Another job knockback. At some point the nightmare of my poor and misguided decision to give up my old job will be reversed.

Shit. Sorry to hear that Ralph. I don't think the decision to quit your old job was either poor or misguided though. It was a sound decision.

Ralph, have you tried to ring them back and ask to speak to the interviewer to seek feedback on where they thought you needed improvement? It's a useful way to build up on beating unforeseen weak points.

Shit. Sorry to hear that Ralph. I don't think the decision to quit your old job was either poor or misguided though. It was a sound decision. Andy I should clarify. The decision to leave was perhaps sound, but what I decided to do next was where I made the mistake. It left me with a fried head, I'm losing my home and (by the end of this month) literally pennyless and with the poorest job prospects I've had in my adult life. It's my own responsibility. No-one made me do it. I made a bad call. It's one of those things. All I can do is put it behind me. I'm not going to say 'boo hoo hoo, look at me'. Everyone's problems are relative. On my better days I like to think of this as the 'character building' part of my life. On my worse days...well let's not get into that. -Ralph
