I enjoyed the two Wallace & Gromits yesterday (Were-Rabbit and Loaf) but they do seem to have got themselves into a bit of a predictable pattern plot-wise (new job venture, Wallace gets taken in, Gromit gets marginalised, Gromit sees truth and saves day) - to the extent that my firm favourite is now A Grand Day Out, because it's different from the rest. And Creature Comforts is a much more satisfying series for me overall.
Doctor Who was a cracker - easily the best Christmas special yet, but that isn't saying much and it deserves higher praise. One of the best Tennant episodes to date.
Martin
PS I did like the rabbit imitating Wallace's voice.

They're showing the Top Gear special where the team drive across America in cars bearing slogans like "Man Love Rules Ok" "Country and Western Is Rubbish" etc, attempting to annoy as many rednecks as possible and almost getting lynched in the process. My brother has that episode on DVD and when I watched it I thought it was one of funniest Top Gear episodes I'd seen. It's cut on the DVD. recorded it last night. Both wallace & grommit and Blackadder are repeated

In overnight ratings, the highest rated programme on Christmas Day was Wallace and Gromit with 14.3m, with Doctor Who in second place at 11.7m (both figures will jump slightly when full data is available a week later).
So what people most wanted to watch were plasticine charcaters engage in comedy pursuits and a bloke who travels in time and space.

Wallace and Gromit were brilliant as ever. Some days you just can't get rid of a cake.

Wallace and Gromit at feature length felt a bit to much but ti wasn't bad as I remember it might have to rewatch at some point.
Who And W&G was all I watched yesterday.

Very true Ralph Souless indeed. I finally got round to watching W&G. It was pretty much the same cliche as before but enjoyable anyway. Jonathan Creek : The Grinning Man was awesome. Sherridan Smiths new character is an improvement over the moody Carla as far as a new female sidekick goes. As far as a 2 hour Christmas Special goes this topped the previous Satan's Chimney. I assume this was reslotted from Boxing Day to New Years Day for maybe pacing reasons or just that the dark tone of the programme was'nt colourful enough for Boxing Day viewing. Here's hoping for another season of Jonathan Creek although chances are unlikely, but I'd be content with more specials. I also thought Sky TV's Blackadder Documentary was better than Beebs one.

Jonathan Creek : The Grinning Man was awesome. I love the concept of an old house with a spiral staircase to a room with slanted walls that everyone assumes is in the roof, though because of the disorienting nature of the staircase and some rooms being sealed up, no-one really knows where it is when looking at the house from the outside. Martin PS Walking forwards from Christmas? How long has that been there?

For Christmas It's been there a month now. The recent special isn't the only time a trick has been played with an old house in Jonathan Creek. The 1999 episode Ghosts Forge had a puzzle of its own too.
