The printing quality, layout, and paper stock are indeed most fine.

Congratulations, Karla, last night you became the 50th person to order Hubris #7. (As a surprise bonus, I'll pop in a free edition of Hubris #6 for you!)
Which means now that the first print run is now sold out. The second printing will commence and become an eBayable variant which says "second printing" in the indicia.

Hooray!
(am I the only person who ever read indicia?)
Good going on selling 50 copies. That's great for a printed fanzine, especially outwith a con!

Well we're a long way off from the heady numbers of All Hail Megatron, but it's good going nonetheless!
Plus I have yet to mention Hubris 7 on the eGroup, or on The Hub's main page, or on DA.
And if anyone's wondering, the other 49 copies were bought by boys.

(am I the only person who ever read indicia?) YES I was trained to read indicia from an early age when I noticed that sometimes 'hidden comments' would be included amongst the copytight info and the like. Doctor Who Magazine still does it most months. -Ralph

'Hold Tight Iacon: Follow my Ruin' had in parts the feel of a Christmas story, as it dealt with a commander plagued by doubts and lack of self-worth (Trailbreaker rather than the usual Optimus Prime), who learns his lesson and gets things in 'correct' perspective by the close of the episode. Very well-written as always, though not a great deal new, either in plot progression or character terms. But it's quite short, so that's fine!
'Timecode: In My Memory' was a homage to Bumblebee. My own memory is hazy when it comes to the overall plot of 'Timecode', since it's a slow-burning saga, so I'm not sure what's going on in the framing sequences, or the stuff about the Hub at the end, but that didn't really matter, as the effort of writing has gone into the meat, namely a flashback of events from Bumblebee's life - and these can be enjoyed to the full by the most casual TF reader. I liked the wistful Beachcomber bit, which avoided tipping into angst, but my favourite moment was the bit on Earth where Bumblebee ends up upside-down in vehicle mode. I'm sure they had rain on Cybertron, though perhaps it was dangerous through pollution. But it was a sweet, funny moment. And the Blaster/Bumblebee flashbacks were interesting, as they show us that Blaster and Goldbug weren't meeting for the first time when they were paired up in 1987, as most readers probably assume.
The 'Soundwaves' and 'Complete Works' features nicely rounded out the Marvel comic foundation of the fanzine, and well done on reaching 'B' in the A-Z commentary. Keep it up!
I don't like Stockade's Beast Wars-style legs. Nice vehicle mode though.

Thank you very much for the feedback, Martin!
The "Christmas Feel" of Follow My Ruin didn't occur to me, but it does make sense now you mention it.
Oh, and when I get to 'C' on the AtoZ I'll be treating myself to a big banana split!

oh wooooooooow! I love getting free stuff thankyou so much You're welcome! you also wrapped it very well, too well, it had been attacked by the time it was posted through letterbox lol! looking for money probably. Then all they will find is DEATH! Each issue is packed with receptor specific neuro toxins that have been chemically modified to attack the hypothalamus and cause instant collapsing of the lungs. Don't worry though, it won't harm fanboys or fangirls, but it's deadly to postmen. i'm going to be reading it this evening with hot chocolate I couldn't think of a better way to enjoy a Friday night! I hope you enjoy the issue!

While I am not above threatening girls, I would never threaten one that's gone to the trouble of ordering/reading a fanzine!
Glad you enjoyed Hold Tight, Iacon! so far.
