Just noticed that Thor is going back to #600 from its v3#13.
I think Marvel should return CapA back to original numbering - v5#46 would be #595
But shoudl all these relaunched title go back to original numbering?
Fan 4, Spiderman have
New Avengers #49 would be #552 Hulk v3 #9 = 596
Ironman [get tricky due to 2 titles now] v4#35 = #469

I'm pretty sure that Captain America will pick up it's numbering again as of issue 600.

That could tie in with a return of Cap A - btu they do seem to have been doing somehting like that over the past year - the whole Punisher is new Cap, but the Punishers got himself 3 titles now. So just another 5 months. Dont think Hulk is going back to #600 with just being given new #1.

The Hulk may indeed go back to traditional numbering as it would be issue 13 when it hits 600 the same as Thor.

I'd also prefer it if Steve Rodgers didn't come back from the dead. Marvel have managed to create an effective legacy hero, which is probably their first. I said effective before folks come in and talk about Genis Vell and the like.

Steve Rodgers may be dead but the healthy status of the title proves that Captain America is able outlive the wearer of the mantle. I'd be quite content for them to not bring him back - James Buchanan Barnes can have the role until something happens to him, and then a new Captain America can take over in turn. I'd agree with you that he is Marvel's only successful "legacy" style character - they've made the attempt before but it has never really taken. (Thor and Captain Marvel spring to mind) Karl

Well the Thor attempt was pretty much a temporary thing, but I did enjoy it. I like the Defalco/Frenz era on Thor. Good solid superhero fare with enough of the pomp and bombast needed for a Thor title - take note JMS!

I go with Andrew statement too
We have so much disrespect for the meaning of a characters death & what there life stood for - how lets kill him & bring him back to increase sales & make his death meanless. We had Spiderman quit a few times but he always returns. But that is slightly different to a ww2 legend who disappeared in the comics due to the people living after the war not caring for him anymore. After the war the last thing they wanted was to support a comic character who gave them moral support during the war.
