I reckon 15 would if you gave him the chance.
But only in a kilt.

Hmmmmmm. They blindfold her, and lower her over the edge.
They blindfold her.
And lowered her over the edge.

I had a chin wobble, lads, and I have no shame admitting it.
Both were absolutely brilliant.
...I've actually not been able to go back to it since. I will, in another day or so, but... yeah, not just yet.

Finally managed to get back on the McCoy Who rewatch now that we've finished our marathon of 100 Gundam episodes. Watched Silver Nemesis last night, and whilst it's not quite as bad as its reputation makes out, it's also like they said "what if we did Remembrance of the Daleks again, but less subtle and with Cybermen, and worse?" Although it does have some entertaining moments.

Silly Nemesis is terrible. But on the other hand it is one of those stories where I have seen a number of the locations from the location shoot. There is something amusing about watching Lady Peinfort and Richard walk down a High Street and know you have literally walked the same stretch of pavement. (And wander around a Castle and muse as to whether one is going to bump in to a strangely familiar woman walking some small dogs...).
Also, it has proper batshit Cybermen in it - "Leader, is this the Human condition known as...<dramatic pause> Mad-Ness?!"

I will, in another day or so, but... yeah, not just yet. Ian and Barbara are genuinely two of my favourite companions - I think they are both absolutely fantastic performances, and really strong characters. They are also part of my all-time favourite line-up - HartnellDoc, Ian, Barbara and Vicki is hands down my favourite set of TARDIS travellers. (Yes, that's right - my favourite Doctor is not part of my favourite ensemble. Whole is greater than the sum of its (pretty darned amazing) parts). Karl

It is objectively terrible, but I love it. "Are you social workers?" Yeah, there's enough nonsense in this that I could see myself going back to it, even though as a piece it's not great. I think my favourite thing is the Lady and her servant doing the time travel thing, where the Peinfort actress starts doing some bad "the ground is shaking" acting, and the other guy just stands stock still. Great direction.

I've been listening to the Star Beast/Giggle commentaries this afternoon while toy opening, very enjoyable. It's very hard not to listen to the one for The Giggle without a permanent grin, it's so lovely listening to those three talking about the episode.
Loads of little interesting snippets in there, especially from RTD, but I'm intrigued by the fact RTD clearly thinks the house in the last scene is the Nobles', whereas the novelisation explains the Doctor bought it. It doesn't look like the garden that had Rose's shed in it, so I think I prefer James Goss's version.

I'm assuming that he had to sign off on the changes made by the novel, so clearly he's changed his mind since then. Or just remembered that it's only canon if you see it on screen, so it doesn't matter what the book says anyway...

Or, as is usual with novelisations, it's written from a production script and access to nowt else as it often hasn't been made/finished yet due to how publication schedules work.

I've been continuing on with the First Hoop. The Dalek one was good. I like Dodo and Steven. What happened to Vicky? Did I miss something? Toymaker was interesting but annoying in places, that's what the bi-regeneration special was about wasn't it. Gunslingers was good, although the gunfight at the Ok Corral wasn't very accurate. War Machines now- it's got its own fancy title sequence!

Vicky left in the missing The Myth Makers. She is replaced by Katrina, who leaves in Dalek Masterplan, who is replaced in that story by Sara Kingdom who leaves at the end of it. The next story The Massacre introduces Dodo at the end. Steven leaves in the Savages which is between Gunfighters and War Machines. So Web Planet * The Crusade The Space Museum The Chase The Time Meddler
* Galaxy 4 * Mission to the Unknown * The Myth Makers * The Dalek Masterplan * The Massacre The Ark * The Celestial Toymaker The Gunfighters * The Savages The War Machines
* The Smugglers * The Tenth Planet End of S2 to Hartnell's departure just into S4 has a lot of completely or partially missing stories, marked with a *. S4 is likewise not in a good state but things improve after that quite a bit. Over half of s5 now exists and most of s6

In fairness I don't think I've seen very many fictional versions of the Gunfight at the OK Corral that were particularly accurate...and I've seen a heck of a lot of versions over the decades! Sadly Vicki's story, where she essentially escapes into nonsense history for...reasons... is mostly missing. I think this is sad, but then - as rather a fan of Vicki and her "lets do more violence", "lets have a revolution!" attitude to time-travel - I would say that wouldn't I? Karl

A sixty minute 'David Tennant talks you through random archive clips' documentary appeared after I'd watched the commentary for Ruby Road. Nothing new, but his excitement at seeing the studio footage for Tom Baker's regeneration (as in lining up the transitions between Baker, the watcher and Davison) is fun. Although you'd have thought being a fan he'd already have seen that.

Karl Ah another Gunfight at the (empty lot behind the) OK Corral fanatic! Excellent! It's been a while since I studied it, and I'm sure I haven't seen all representations, but Kevin Costner's would have to be the most accurate from what I remember reading about it, but not perfect obviously.
