Not to be confused with the Actor Peter Moffat ! (who's spent his life working under a different name)
New Who S3 DVD set dropped onto the door mat at Phil's Death Fortress this am. Pennies under £50 at ASDA.com but the code ent10 gets you 10% off everything more than £30. If only I'd known this earlier in the week. Still it brings the Davbros box down to £62

The RRP on the Davros set is taking the piss.
Vanilla volumes of New Who are down to £7 a pop in various places.

That Asda offer brings it down to about £12 per story
But yes the RRP (a ton) is taking the mick a bit. But I'm keen on having the sorted out Rememberance

The Sontarans look naff, much as I like them they always looked naff and they still do.

Davros boxed set - far too expensive for my blood. That would be over a months worth of my DVD budget gone on a single item so I think I will be skipping that. Karl Given that I own much of the contents of the Davros set anyway, I'm not going to bother with it. I will be interested in the new Rememberance if it gets a separate release though - one of the few serials I would double dip on.

I suspect the Judoon's appearance is the reason behind the Sontarans apparently being dressed in blue now, to differentiate them more.
When the last series was trailed, there were people who thought the Judoon were Sontarans. I wouldn't be surprised if RTD & co saw the positive reaction and decided to bring them back next. (Personally, I'd have preferred the Sea Devils and/or Silurians next, or gone a series without returning villains.)
I see Christopher Ryan is returning to Who to play the lead Sontaran. I hope the character's name is Myke, with lieutenants called Ryk, Vyv and Nyeel.

Something tells me he won't have those rather fondly remembered names.
I wonder what clothes the Sea Devils would wear in an RTD produced show, would we still see the string vests?

I think the Warriors of the Deep samurai outfits would be more likely for today's television, even though the string vests look better.

Picked up the series 3 soundtrack today for a tenner in FOPP. Like the series1/2 soundtrack, it's surprising how much of it works out of context.

My Series Three boxset turned up today and I have to say the lenticular Master cover is rather spiffing. Well worth the extra 50p I spent. Just watching the episodes through at the moment as it seems ages since I saw them, very enjoyable - but then I haven't gotten to the Dalek story yet. Glad to see Tennant's video diary is included again this year. That was a definite highlight on the last set.

It really is good stuff and being all orchestral based and from the one season hangs together better as a CD than the previous soundtrack release (which was also pretty good). The Carrionites Swarm from the end of The Shakespeare Code is a cracking action track. It got a bit lost in the mix on the transmitted episode but just jumps out of the speakers here. Loads of great pieces on here. This is Gallifrey: Our Childhood, Our Home is big sweeping epic stuff, The Stowaway from Voyage of the Damned is very jolly and the short tune that accompanied the Scarecrow/schoolboys battle in The Family of Blood is in here too. Can't recommend it highly enough. Well worth ten Earth pounds. Most of this sounds like feature film material rather than stuff off the telly. -Ralph

How much did you get it for Dave ?
Just laid out for a cheap slimline S1 off eBay as that Tardis box took up too much space

It was roughly £42, but that was because I get 10% off Amazon DVD purchases and I think there was a voucher in there somewhere too.
My series 1 tardis box is in a right state, so I think I'll be transferring the discs to a new case at some point.

Peter Davison IS the Doctor!
Not bad for a 5-minute skit. Moffat is a writing God.
Damn it, I want Davison in a 'proper' episode now! Come on, BBC!

Did anyone else think that they detected a moment in the Children in Need skitl where Moffat appeared to be speaking directly through David Tennant's mouth? Karl Fairly obvious: "You were my Doctor!" -Ralph
