Also Professor Matic in Supercar and Brains in Thunderbirds.
He was still working at 99!!! Amazing.

An impressive innings - to be still working at 99 years old means that he was still working at a later age than any of my grandparents reached. It is darned impressive.
He will be missed.

Roads in front of Cardiff City Hall and the National Museum were closed due to filming today. I heard someone say it was for a Doctor Who spin-off. What would that be then?

TWBTLATS!
Otherwise known as The War Between the Land and the Sea, which is going to be a five part UNIT vs the Sea Devils mini series that'll air after the next season of Doctor Who. Kinda like a stop gap between the second and third seasons of Who itself. If there is a third season, which hasn't been commissioned and won't be according to RTD until the second has aired next year.

Thank you for enlightening me, I was not aware of any of that.
On Wednesday roads in the same area will apparently be closed for filming Casualty. They're getting it all done this week.

A Sea Devil/Casualty crossover would be interesting.
I've had to block several DW Youtube channels over the past few days due to the nasty speculation about series 3/16/42. People seem to be going a bit crazy over Ncuti Gatwa being 'censored' on Graham Norton and DW being cancelled after S2/S3. It's getting a bit much.

YT is rapidly becoming something of a cesspool, requiring vigorous blocking to avoid horrific shite being sent via the algorithm.

People have learned that outrage makes more money/gets more clicks. It also takes less effort than doing a video called 'I like Doctor Who'.
I don't use youtube often but I have noticed it now mostly serves up I AM OFFENDED videos in the recommendations category. This is odd as they are not my cup of tea.

Not sure if it counts as a spoiler, apparently it was made to rain plastic rubbish during filming outside the Museum. Walkers crisp packets were apparently in the mix of falling rubbish. I'm not sure whether that sort of product placement is considered good for business. Maybe it is! Today a residential road near my house that was previously used in 'The Idiot's Lantern' was closed off for filming. Martin

TERROR OF THE ZYGONS and THE SEEDS OF DOOM are currently showing as 6 days left on Iplayer. An error? The end of an agreement with the estate of Robert Banks Stewart?
Who knows?
WHO. NOSE?

Season 25 set has arrived. I'm feeling a need for a bit of urgency with this now, we've still got 10 seasons to go and post covid we've been on two sets a year. I think we should be back on the three a year we were getting before 2020. Let's get it done. At least the five remaining colour seasons; nothing missing there to hold them up. I'd be happy to see 11, 16, 21, 7, 13.

I think the key bit there is the 'we have everything we have the rights to'. It's odd they did and now don't for the Banks Stewart stories.

I would assume they only had the streaming rights to those episodes for a fixed time, which has now expired.

This must be fixable though. Zygons turn up in any number of stories and fan productions. The Banks estate can't be that precious about rights. I wonder if the BBC is worried enough about it to resolve it.

It may just be that the budget for DW streaming is X and the Banks estate wanted Y when the original agreement ran out.
Or it could have bugger all to do with the Banks estate. What else do the two stories share? The same composer?

DWM 610 confirms the death of actor Richardson Morgan on 29th September aged 94. www.imdb.com/name/nm0604975/Most of us here will be familiar with him for his top turns in Doctor Who as Corporal Blake in Web of Fear and Rogin in Ark in Space His IMDB credits show his was something of a regular for director Douglas Camfield.

I think it looks like they've agreed that their name going forward, have decided to show it and have jumped the gun on the merchandising
