Excellent. I visited Ironbridge somewhere in the last decade. Lovely place. Impossible not to be there and hear the Mark of the Rani soundtrack in your head.

Ah, good. It's some sort of mobile name I've ever heard of. I was worried it was going to be a crossover with ST:Online or something, which would be fairly awful. (And I say that as someone who has been playing ST:O for about 6 years on and off).

Thought that was a decent re-edit/cut-down/omnibus showing. Wisely cut a chunk of the weaker part 4 material on Mars. New CG was unobtrusive and used sparingly. Only change that took me out of it was using a memorable music cue from Logopolis (!) over some of the Doctor's dialogue. -Ralph Finally got a chance to watch this. It's very nicely done indeed. The random use of the music from Logopolis is an in joke referring to the fact Scarman is demonstrating his radio telescope to the Doctor. Retro foreshadowing!

Yup, but it's an in-joke which sticks out like a sore thumb. Other than that one niggle* I thought it was a very well done cut-down omnibus of the story. It was wise to cut most of Part Four (the weakest element of the original).

*Well two: replacing the time corridor with the time vortex is pointless narrative changing.
*Well three: they erased the hand of Sutekh!

*Well two: replacing the time corridor with the time vortex is pointless narrative changing. But does bring the story in line with the dialogue in the New New Series episode about how The Doctor cast Suhtek into the Time Vortex but the latter survived by clinging onto T.A.R.D.I.S... I suspect that ensuring that alignment was the reason for the change to the narrative. Karl

More of an issue for Skyfall, the best of the Daniel Craig Bonds.
And I don't suppose I'll be seeing series 6 episode 7 of 'Would I Lie to You?' on Dave ever again.

Did Shockprowl ever finish his Iplayer Whoathon? -Ralph I ran out of steam so taking a break and when my interest reawakens I will endeavour to delve into the only one I have left to watch, the one Blueshift elevated to stand among my very favourite Doctors- THIRD.

I turn to m'learned colleagues for an opinion on a question that came up in a quiz Mrs P was doing this afternoon:
Which fictional character is known for their love of tea?
A Bart Simpson B Doctor Who C Mickey Mouse
Now given the thread I posted this in you can guess the answer given in the quiz, which garnered the response from me, 'no he bloody isn't'. Since when has the Doctor been known to the general public for loving tea?!

Found myself in the Capital yesterday, seated and watching some fine musicians play the music of Doctor Who. Which was nice. Spoilers for those of you planning on watching the Proms at some later date via the magicks of t'Interwebs:
Mostly Gold's stuff, unsurprisingly, although they did have a token suite by Akinola, which was also good, but he deserved to have a slightly longer bit. On the plus side we got a couple of pieces of Gold's music from Capaldi's era that hadn't been performed live before on account of there not having been any Doctor Who proms since 2013.
No Doctors showed up, alas, although there was a filmed video insert from Gatwa (as the Doctor). Catherine Tate did a great, if chaotic, turn as the MC. Anita Dobson turned up as Mrs. Flood, which was such a bizarre thing. And there were the usual batch of monsters wandering through the audience.
Unnervingly, during the music for 73 Yards an old woman appeared at the opposite side of the hall making strange signs. Which was unsettling...

It'll be on the iPlayer at Christmas, apparently, but it's on BBC Sounds right now. Not the matinee performance I was at, alas, but the evening one. But the music is of course the same.
