Well I bought it today with Wii Speak. After being disappointed in the run up that it was just going to be the same again I quickly forgot all that when I started to play. All the charm is still there. Just listening to the music put a smile on my face. I hope I'm not the only one who's getting it.
The gates of the Decepticon stronghold of Polyhex are open. Ruled by the evil warlord Tom Nook, who owns the souls of every town member. All must work to expand his empire! Even Lolly the black and white girl thingy cat.

EDIT: Hey since when was P U S S Y a swear word? I used it in its most innocent context!

Incidently I tried the Wii Speak channel and its not complete shit! Although actually arranging to speak to other people might be a bit cumbersome (and pointless as you'd probably have to ring them to let them know!) you can send voice messages to your Wii friends, even those who don't have Wii Speak. If you see your Wii flashing blue, be prepared. Especially you Jimbo.

My sister got me this for my birthday. Only had a brief play so I'm not sure what's new or missing this time round but I like how you can use your Mii. I see you can transfer some stuff over from the DS Wild World (I can't having sold it) which is a neat addition but it seems a bit of an oversight to not make use of the Gamecube memory card slot.
I was also amused by the bit in the instruction booklet telling parents to make sure their kids save correctly because Mr Resetti might upset them ;D
anyway my friend code

Jonathan has been gravitating towards friends DS's and has been given one.
I note there's a DS version of our old favorite Animal Crossing.....

AC is one of those games that just works on a handheld in a way that it doesn't on a larger console. Sure, the Wii version has better graphics and a larger map, but the DS version feels more fun.

Did not know this thread exists. I'm quasi obcessed with AC. Animal Crossing 3DS (Now called New Leaf) was geared to be one of the launch titled for 3DS, supossedly. I stopped playing before then so I could obcess with the new one. But every time it was getting close to release date, it got pushed back The last release date was supossed to be this month, then it got pushed back in february to next month.
I finally broke down and started playing my Wii copy again. (FINALLY CAUGHT THE BEES THIS MORNING!!!!!)
AC is insanely cute. But dispite better graphics, I much prefer Wild World to City Folk. Not only for it's portability, but the damned grass issue drives me crazy. I'm terrified of walking anywhere and fossile or insect hunting. And I tore up most of my grass before I ever new it could deteriorate. Been spending every day of the last two months trying to repair it.
Bit New Leaf is (hopefully) released next month, and that's shaping up to be the best installment yet. It's the biggest departure yet. A new art style for the player characters, lots of new bugs and fish, new tools, new characters in your town, some are reassigned, the island returns, and the biggest change yet... you the player are the town's mayor. Tortimer has retired. You can swim and dive, have fossils fasioned into furniture, two new animal species are introduced, and two new animal personality types are introduced, also.
I've spent the last few months trying to come up with a name for my upcoming new town. (Wild World I named it Kindale, and City Folk I named it New River)
I love animal crossing. I just with I could get online and visit friends towns.
