Provided you check your brains at the door before the film starts Crank is an enjoyable romp starring Jason Statham as Chev Chelios, a hitman who has been poisioned by a drugs cocktail that is slowing down his heart, to stay alive he has to keep his adrenaline levels high.
Much mayhem and madness ensues.

Crank is without doubt, my favourite action film of the last 10 years. I laughed from start to finish. Most of Jason Statham's films are enjoyable romps.
For other hilarious action films, please check out:

I'll need to post up the lyrics to our song 'Crenk', which is devoted to Chevvy himself.

The first Transporter film is way better than the second.
Seven Samurai for me.

I'm reading online about all the rumours for the now confirmed 'Crank 2'.
I have never been happier. Rumours of a Chinese gangster stealing Chevy's 'indestructable heart' and replacing it with an electronic one which requires constant electric shocks.
Priceless.

The first Transporter film is way better than the second. Seven Samurai for me. Most things are better than "Transporter 2" - the only reason I've seen it was because it was in a double-pack with the first film that I got very cheap. Effectively I paid £4 for "The Transporter" and got a shiny coaster with it. (A coaster which has subsequently passed from my house). I do have a lot of time for "Seven Samurai", but for some reason I actually prefer "Yojimbo". Not because it is on any technical level a better film (it isn't) but just because it somehow works better for me. Karl

I do like Crank and the transporter etc, but then I saw Shoot'em Up, which frankly take the whole genre to a new level and contains a deeply rooted message about healthy eating to boot.

The Core! I freakin' well love that movie! Ol' Hilly (Hillary Swank) is a personal friend of mine...

'The Core' was hilarious. An entertaining couple of hours at the cinema.
Saw 'Crank' at the weekend. OK in a 'watch once sort of way' but veered wildly between inspired and utter crap, often in the middle of scenes! Which is a neat trick.

Never seen "The Core", and I would have to agree on "Crank". Not a film I am likely to ever watch again - but was fascinating to see one. Genuinely demented stuff - in both the good and bad ways.
If you had told me that they didn't actually have a script, and that they just went from scene to scene making it up I wouldn't be able to dismiss the suggestion out of hand.
It was... an experience.. to watch.

Ong Bak is an excellent action flick if you don't mind the subtitles. Amazing stunts and fight scenes and there's a decent sotry too.
Otherwise, anything with Chuck Norris or Dolph Lundgren.

Tony Jaa is certainly a very accomplished stunt and fighter performer. Some of the things he can do without wire assistance are genuinely amazing. Karl

If you can turn a blind eye to the flag-waving, "Air Force One", on BBC1 tonight at 10.35, is good solid Harrison Ford tosh.

I recommend you have a look at this trailer for the new movie Street Fighter: Legend of Chun Li, I can't say if the movie is any good though:
