www.comicexpo.net/No guests or nada announced yet, except for the Ramada Hotel venue which I hope is bigger than the usual place by Temple Meads Station.

They use both places - the conf centre being bigger than the tiny rooms at the hotel.

I did'nt know that. Judging from the site it something about a one off at the hotel.
I've been going for years (ok I missed last year) and I've always been in the place by Temple Meads which gets massivley overcrowded.

Also does get hot - last time i was there was in 2007 when it was raining outside. Much better than when it was all in the hotel back in 2004 - signing table was just room for 2 people & was op the lifts. while one room was used for talks & the other was dealers [about 6]

Last time I was there was 2007 too. Those Stormtroopers hanging about outside was a decent free attraction.
Would be cool to meet any Hubbers who may be coming down. I usually talk to Jack Lawrence and Theo Bain who seem to attend regularly.

I usually go to Bristol! It would be cool to meet hubbers there too, cos most people I know who go are involved in either organising or have to go off and do signings so I get left alone in the bar often!

Would people here just go for the day, or both days? I've only ever gone for the Saturday before, but it does sound like most exciting stuff happens in the evenings

I usually go both days. Sunday is usually the lighter day.

This year's event is only at the hotel. The Empire and Commonwealth (the Temple Meads place) is under new ownership and so wasn't bookable this year. (I think they hope to be back there next year.) As a result, the event will be smaller than usual. I know this because I tried to book as a dealer, but it's that much smaller that the dealer tables were invitation only! I don't know why the Comic Expo's own website isn't being updated, but event details are available at a partner website, www.fantasymania.co.uk/index2.html

Phil, it would cool to see you again. Blue, I definitley have to meet you also.
That's pretty poor about the Expo website. I was wondering myself about the lack of input.

This will teach me to be disorganised and lazy! Apparently all tickets have been sold out and there won't be any on the door on the day!
