So Greggs now do this '5 sausage rolls for 2' thing. I have succumbed, even though their pastries are never any good. -Ralph I used to buy sausage rolls from Greggs fairly often until a few years ago when I found a bone in one and haven't bought one fromt here since. I rarely go there at all since, actually. In sausageish news, I recently tried black pudding for the first time ever and found I actually rather enjoyed it.

Black pudding is an essential component of a full-up cooked breakfast in my view.

I can report great success from last night's meal. Starter was the Seafood platter shared between myself and the missus. All components tasty. Main courses - She had of the specials menu 2xPork and Leek - Toad In The Hole (a new option since I last visited) with champ. I went for the taster plate which had 4 sausages, The Clifton (Cider, Wholegrain Mustard), Old Spot (plain pork), Lamb, Mint and Apricot and a Beef and Spitfire Ale with champ and parsnip crisps (which weren't seasoned, but there was sea salt on the table so easily rectified). A side of buttered curly kale rounded off this course a treat and plenty of gravy served in individual boats. Needless to say, I didn't have room for dessert, but the apple crumble with spiced rum soaked raisins was certainly tempting. I don't know why I don't eat there more often, service is good, food is tasty, atmosphere is relaxed. I can't decide if it's my favourite restaurant or not (as it has stiff competition from www.casamiarestaurant.co.uk/ but I've only eaten there once due to the price!)

I think they do a roast on a Sunday (normal menu options also available) and it gets quite busy as it's not a large place (maybe 55 covers max?).
Or did you mean Greggs?

Sausages again last night! Local butchers' sausage of the month, venison with apple, port and juniper. Had them with potato and parsnip mash and onion gravy, washed down with ale. Delicious.

I passed on a sausage supper tonight as in a new glorious innovation the local chippy now do a portion of (excellent) chicken pakora.
I am sorry, but chicken pakora trumps sausage every time.
