I always go for a burger in the open air. Isn't there a law against that? Martin

My brother has brought this to my attention: www.stein-s.com/kingston/menu.phpClick on Eine für Alle (Platten für mehrere Personen) Sharer Platters for Several People Look at Die Große Bratwurst-Sause - The Giant Sausage Feast I think we must undertake this as a team challenge at some point

I'm in... I have lurked over this thread for long enough that I can understand it's gravity. We will come. It will go.

Ahaha - yes we have a German style beer house in Bristol now too, that also offers a massive platter of Wursts www.bavarian-beerhouse.co.uk/index.php/foodanddrinksUnfortunately we went 3 days after they opened and service was shockingly bad. We are intending to re-visit now that it's 8 months later.

BOON (Borne Out Of Necessity) Sausage Recipe 1:
'Reggae Reggae Flat Dogs'
2 x Bratwurst 1 x Tomato flat bread (on day of best before date) 1 x Tub of creamy coleslaw (one day past best before date) 1 x Unopened Reggae Reggae table sauce 1 x bit of butter (optional)
Instructions for construction and execution:
Cook flat bread Cook bratties (open and line with butter if required) Cut flat bread in half Add one bratty to each half Add coleslaw along one side of each bratty Add Reggae Reggae sauce along the other side of each bratty Roll flat bread up with contents inside to resemble a hybrid wrap/hot dog thing Consume
An absolute winner that epitomizes the concept of 'greater than the sum of it's parts'.

Mmmmm, Sausage and Black Pudding sandwich for a late breakfast

Sausage and Black Pudding is nice. Although left to my own devices I would switch the Black Pudding to team-up with bacon, so that the sausage could team up with haggis.
(Haggis is one of the options for a filling in the breakfast rolls in the Falkirk Wheel cafe, and every so often I will treat myself to an over-under, double-barrelled Sausage and Haggis roll)

I think sausages in finger rolls for tea this evening, washed down with a small bottle of beer. Possibly in the garden where it is slightly cooler.

So the Mrs defrosted 6 sausages yesterday, intending to do Toad in the Hole.
Except she forgot.
So I was ordered to cook them all, eat some for lunch in a sandwich (it's a hard life) and then stick the remaining one in the freezer when they'd cooled.
I duly defrosted 4 slices of bread this morning.
Wasn't my fault that each round could take 3 sausages sliced open and laid flat? ;-)

One can only do with the sausage what the sausage dictates.

Nobody requested I bring back sausages until after I had returned to the UK. In light of unparalleled travel chaos I was lucky to get back at all.
