This new reprint book from IDW has the first 16 issues of the US Marvel run in it, but it's in colour, not black and white as advertised. It's still $20 though, so well worth it for the amount of material you get.

It looks rather spiffy. I would be tempted to buy it if I hadn't bought the previously published paperbacks.

I just noticed it doesn't contain issues #3 and #9 due to copyright issues. Marvel own Spider-Man and Circuit Breaker, so summaries of those issues by Stuart Denyer are included instead, with the offending characters blacked out on the cover scans.
Go for the Titan ones instead if you want a complete reprint of the US run.

No reprints of 3 and 9 unfortunately mean this has passed into the realms of pointless for me, which is a shame, as I'm sure otherwise it's a fine product. To be honest, though, the only previous selling point was 'I wonder if the art looks substantially different in black and white'. With that gone, it was a bit irrelevant if you had the Titan trades, or the issues, anyway.

Like James without the two issues there's not really much point in picking this up.
If the books are going to be done sequentially I can't see how the Unicron War story is going to be done.

Hmmm. I already have the Titan reprints of these issue anyway,. So for me the draw was seeing them presented in a way I hadn't seen before (i.e just the black and white art). If they've changed that (which is a bit of a sneaky bait-and-switch) then I can't really see any reason to buy them. Especially as they contain less material than the original versions.
Looks like IDW have lost a sale here.

I can see cutting Spider-Man, but Circuit-Breaker? She appears in not only #9, but also #21-23, #45, and almost every issue from #72 on including the Unicron battle. Cut out every issue she's in, why even bother doing the trade?
Judge Dredd Megazine's reprinting a creator-owned DC comic that had Lobo appear in it, they just had Lobo cunningly redrawn to be a new character ("Asbo! Oh no!"). That'd be preferable - it'd grate but at least we could read the damn issues.

IIRC Circuit Breaker hasn't appeared in a comic since Marvel US TF 17 years ago.
IIRC the late-US material is being reprinted again in Best of Transformers Vol1 from Titan in a few months.

Ah is that what the trade collects?

Would appear so from the garbled amazon listing.
