In the run up to 1st November, why not cast our minds back (those of us who are old enough ) to before the introduction of Transformers? What toys, comics and television did you enjoy before you found that there was more than meets the eye?

I had the A-TEAM Combat Headquarters, attack tank and van! They were awesome!

I didn't have any A-Team toys, my next door neighbour did. My toy collection was dominated by He-Man, Star Wars and Robo Machines.

I had the headquarters, van and a set of four villains. Sadly, I now only have the villains (less one that got stepped on), the others unfortunately having gone in the "end of childhood" car boot sale purge that also said goodbye to my Get Along Gang toys and Thundercats and Spider-Man and Zoids comics, even a couple of Thundercats toys. The A-Team collection is the only thing I haven't rebuilt since. The 6 inch figures are still quite cheap and easy to get hold of, but I was never interested in those.
A friend of mine had the rare die-cast van for his A-Team figures. It's the only one I've ever seen.
The A-Team was one of my favourite programmes back then. I enjoyed the other similar programmes, too - Knight Rider, Street Hawk, Airwolf, Blue Thunder.
