I nominate the Jerry Paris from TFUK issue 1.
Two of my favourite characters for a start, plus Soundwave depicted here being incredibly scary and dangerous. Plus I appreciate the based-on-the-toys look, making the characters very machine-like.
Also; Earth below... a metaphor for six year olds.

I could try to be original, but... UK #1 it is.

It is iconic and there is no getting around it for me - you are asking for my favourite TF comics cover from the year. UK#1 it has to be.

I'm going to have to go with UK #1 too.
We always get US #5 homages, but never UK #1, pity.

I'm no Nick Roche, but I am in the middle of another #1 homage.
Never let it be said that a plea on the Hub goes unanswered!

Of course you are no Nick Roache, you are an Andy Turbull. I'm no Andy Turbull though and I should draw more . My fave cover is the Shockwave "Are All Dead" from issue 20something. Errr Martin? Anyone? I forgot the number again. Brain's not working again. ===KEN

Issue 23 or US Issue 5 painted by Mark D Bright.
I still remember a post Hubday train discussion where Ralph where I managed to deduce from the signature it was MD Bright and him disbelieving me.

Slightly flawed premise, in that Shockwave really wanted to say "All the Autobots are dead," not "All the Transformers are dead". But a nice pic.

He just did'nt have room to write it all, so the logical thing was to abreviate it.
I wish I was brainy to think of that.

All this Shockwave talk should be save for 1985.

Strange though it may seem, when I see the image my mind tells me it's the cover of 'The Complete Works - part 1', where it was re-used. That book was read many times when I was ickle and the cover in particular fascinated me. I never saw UK#1 back in the day and wondered what the cover had been like! About a dozen years later I finally found out!
