Repaint time !

Wiretap is a repaint of Speed Dial - see uk.geocities.com/[e-mail]/mRealGearW1.html

I was looking forward to Wiretap - the publicity/packaging photos show him in mainly black with bright red limbs. Alas the red is more a rusty orange - but redder than Wreckages. Still a nice repaint, but one step down from the gorgeousness I was hoping for.

Here again the pre publicity pictures made me expect something in white and bright blue. The white is more grey, and the blue pale. Repaint still looks good though.

There's more of these to come: Highline 1070 (a red Speed Dial) , Hacker X-3 (a black, silver and blue Power Up), Photon T-34 (a black and gold Spyshot)

The "Target Exclusive" Sector 7 Basic repaints are showing in the UK

Wave 1: Arcee, Signal Flare and Hardtop
Wave 2: Strongarm, Skyblast and Clocker
Wave 3: Elita 1 (Arcee), Air Raid (Sky Blast) and Armourhide
Wave 4: Storm Surge (Shortround) and ?

I'm not sure Wave 1 has been seen but my local Woolies has Waves 2 & 3. I've got Strongarm, Airraid (Sky Blast is coming) and Armourhide

Nice repaint, mainly green which makes him a close comparison to G1 Hound. His Energon is done in a very dark smoked clear colour - looks nice. One ting I spotted on this toy after the original review: why is the post for the crane arm that ends up on his shoulder done as a minicon post ? It's the right size and would have added a little extra something to the toy.

I've chilled on this mode a little since the earlier review - because he's the start of my obsession with knees that only fold sideways ! Deco here is excellent - grey feet and arms, but most of the body is cast in green with a camouflage pattern over the top - little black and olive coloured squares. VERY effective. Energon weapons are solid black here. Nice repaint.

Toy's cab is black, truck bed is grey. Yellow paint highlights, especially (and very effectively) on the missiles. The yellow helps the robot mode to be not an obvious Nemesis Prime/Scourge black repaint but it ain't far off. I should like it more but it's not as good as the other 2.

Sky Blast repaints to come.

Haven't seen the scouts wave 1 assortment anywhere. I wonder if Hasbro UK is skipping it?

Ditto for a blue Scrapmetal. I'd also like to see a red/crimson Breakdown that I can use as Windcharger.

No, I've not seen wave 1, I'd like the Signal Flare.

Storm Surge (what kinda name is that?) = Seaspray? Colours are pretty close.

I've got Strongarm, Armorhide, Clocker and Skyblast, all fairly good figs and good repaints. Best IMHO is the blue Clocker whome I, in my "New G1 collection" madness, have re-named Beachcomber!!! Just about works.

I think they may have done - I remember seeing Arcee and Hardtop floating around in Woolies at one stage. Don't recall ever seeing Signal Flare though. (Maybe Godzilla smashed them all :-) ).

I saw Signal Flare, Arcee and Hardtop at the Woolies in Fishponds Bristol. Still no sign of Skyblast though.
